Fine for normal monitoring but not for an extended vacation.

Having trouble getting notices of activity after sharing access with other family members. Not crazy about the cost to save video for 7 or 30 days, but seems to be the best, easiest, and most flexible at this point. No wiring or additional storage equipment needed.

To expansive for what is capable without subscription security contract. Drains a lot of internet data from ISP data limit. Excellent build quality is about it!

I use if for a baby monitor, I like that I can access it from anywhere with my phone. There seems to be an annoying delay that bothers me. Also the talk back feature doesn't work that great.

We recommend you to try some steps below for the video delays you highlighted:
1. If you have a lot of open apps on your phone, they can slow down its overall performance. Try closing some apps, including the Nest app, and then re-open only the Nest app to view your video.
2. If the delay is 10 seconds or more and it happens after you’ve been watching video in the Nest app for a long time, re-load your camera’s feed: navigate back to the Nest app’s home screen and tap on your camera again to refresh the connection.
3. The video can be delayed if your camera, phone, tablet or computer is connected to a Wi-Fi extender, which adds extra relay time to any device that’s using it. If you’re using an extender in your home, connect your camera directly to your Wi-Fi router to help reduce the delay:
- from the Nest app home screen, tap Settings
- then select Home info and
- then choose Home Wi-Fi help and then
- Select your camera and then Update settings.
- Be sure to pick your Wi-Fi router and not the extender.
We also suggest making sure your Wi-Fi network has sufficient bandwidth to accommodate the data transfer from your Nest camera. A minimum of 2Mbps network bandwidth is needed for an effective streaming experience.

The ability to record up to 30 days in the cloud was a must have and Nest offers it for $10/month for the first camera and $5/month for every other camera. There is no contract, stop and start at any time.

It doesn't get direct sunlight so it works quite well. Eventually will upgrade to a nest doorbell and use this as a general interior camera.

The only draw back is the yearly subscription fee which is why I did not give it 5 stars. It is too much to pay. You have to pay additional fees for each camera you add and want to have the video stored. I would like to see 1 low fee for the household regardless of how many cameras you have.

I am using to watch my garage for package delivery. However, the power code is extremely long for small areas. I purchased a powered adapter that snaps in the camera and plugs in direct into a power outlet. No power cord needed.

It's great for keeping an eye on my pets while away, which is exactly why I use it. I have had a positive experience with the Nest Thermostat and figured it'd be worth my while to buy the camera.

The internet connections drop out easily when they are placed on the outskirts of the wi-fi network, and needs to have a way to stay connected with a weak signal.
