We purchased this camera to keep an eye on our dog, and it is great! Perfect picture and even night vision! The only down side is that you can not remotely move it.

I enjoy all of the devices that Nest makes, but this one is my first camera for home security. It's a good-looking camera that matches my other home electronics, but is easy to mount and watch live video streams from.

All in all, I am happy with my purchase. Very few drop outs and working on my wifi router location to make sure there’s even less. The hardware is great but there are some things I would do to change the app and interface. First, I would make it so the main splash page for multiple camera viewing could be reconfigured. Something that would allow you to size each window differently so you can see the important screens bigger and use all available space without any borders. Next, I would make the app for iPhone and iPad have the ability to ‘always listen’. My previous baby cam allowed for this so you could hear what’s going on even if you were in a different app. Lastly, the price for multiple cameras if you sign up for cloud storage history is a bit steep. I’d like to see the ability to use your own hard drive or something similar to do your own backups.

I have been using this product for about 5 weeks, to help keep an eye on my Mother who has dementia and stage 4 cancer in remission. We discussed the nursing home, a caregiver checking in on her and a camera system that would allow me to check on her. She was fine with only the camera ideas, as long as I would not put a camera in the bathroom!! And I said "Of Course Not, No Way "!!! One camera is in the living room so I can help her with the TV, and the other in the Kitchen so I can help her make coffee, feed her dog and ensure she takes her medicine. The camera has a microphone, but most of the time I call her while I watch her walk into the kitchen. However, I have used the microphone to let her know she has forgotten to hang up the phone because it is constantly busy. The camera's helps out more than I thought, especially when she can't find something. I have set the camera on the lowest resolution setting so it does not eat bandwidth and is still good enough to get the job done. So far it is working very well and I have been able to sleep better knowing I have had eyes on her several times during the day and night. Without the camera I would have to call the neighbors to get some assistance or drive an hour to get to her house. With various safeguards already put in place, I suspect the camera's will allow my Mom to spend between 3 to 6 more months at home with her dog, with me checking on her physically at least once daily and observing throughout the day with the camera. I have one more camera available, but may repurpose somewhere else, These cameras have great, and very easy to use. At the time of purchase seemed a bit expensive but honestly are worth every penny keeping my mind at ease.

Back in the day, getting a dependable security camera with the basic necessities was a hard ask. There was always a compromise. Ended up spending 1000s on a complete home security system and DVR back in the day. After getting a dog, I decided to look into a 'nanny cam' so I could watch what she is up to. The camera up to a few years ago were priced >$200 for the good ones, with high streaming quality (>720p), and more for perks like 2 way sound and recording. Enter Nestcam. A family friend asked me (the amateur techie of the house) to research a security cam for her small business. I knew she wasn't tech savvy, but more importantly I know there had been incidents and thus this was an important business investment for her. After researching Nestcam, Samsung, Arlo, as the top choices for ease of set up/maintenance/quality of video to see details, I decided on Nestcam when I found a great price at $149.99 during a sale. Setting up was a breeze. But what blew us away was the quality of the video, and the numerous functionalities that the camera is built in with ie you don't have to pay extra for it. Amazing night vision. 2 way sound. Amazing visibility and zoomability during live and recorded video. They give you 1 month free Nest Aware ie video recording, and that's more than enough time to figure out what a great feature it is. I get alerts everytime something has moved or a sound is heard - you can set those yourself so if you don't want alerts you can turn it off. After setting it up for her, I got one for myself and the dog. And now I am planning to get another one (or three) for the vacation home). Bottom line : how far security cams have come, and more importantly, what a great job Google and Dropcam = Nest Cam have done! Now I want the whole home kit !

Easy to install .. Works like a charm . I do not need the extra storage which comes with the subscription . I am just looking for the piece of mind that a live picture supplies . I really appreciate the wide angle viewing this device supports as well the clear picture of the targeted area. So far the device is dependable and the Google nest App loads directly on my mobile phone . I recommend this security camera as a low cost solution

i've used many cameras over the years. i recently replaced my dlink dcs-5020s with these cameras. i was slightly concerned with the inability to pan the camera, but after seeing the image and the image quality, i realised that my concerns were misplaced. the camera provides an extremely wide view. i was impressed on the ease of setup. it probably took me less than a minute to setup (probably could have been less had i not been distracted). i have the nest thermostat and smoke/co2 detectors, so the integration of the cameras within the nest app is very, very nice. i think my only negative comment would be that google now knows too much about my life! overall, the camera is costly but well worth the money.

Great camera for the price. I love that I can view from my phone and my computer. I also like that it sends me notifications when there is movement. Very easy to set up and very easy to save video clips.

i love the nest camera, i use it to watch out my baby and it works great daytime as well as at night. it connect seamlessly to wifi and you get notified if any movement is noticed.

Easy setup, superb picture, great controls and interface - this is the best cam I have had by far. I will be buying another soon - highly recommended.

I am satisfied with the quality of the camera, as it serves the designed purpose. I do feel options for storage are left wanting. The base price annually would be 100+. Also the 2 way talking functionality could work better, but does functions sometimes.

I mainly bought it to keep an eye on my 3 dogs during the day, clear picture and very dependable. My only complaint is to have any history, even from 30 seconds ago you need to pay a monthly fee.

Purchased this camera for a baby monitor. Works great! The night vision will show an entire room in no light conditions. HD video is amazing. Didn't use the subscription. Plan on purchasing more.

Excellent camera for indoor use. This is my second indoor nest camera. I purchased one for my garage however The Wife decided it was better placed inside the house to monitor the kids and pets . This one here is my replacement for the inside of the garage. Night time monitoring is unbelievable even in pitch black room you can clearly see all the detail of the room. Daytime monitoring is extremely clear and we use the very simple smartphone application to talk to our kids when they get home from school. The wide angle lense can fill in the entire room and catch multiple entrances in the frame and the clarity to my phone is unbelievable Even when zooming in on particular parts of the video. Frames per second are much faster than the other branded outdoor cameras I am running on the same network. I utilized the Cloud Recording service from Nest however did not purchase The service after the initial trial was over. The notifications on my phone are helpful in telling me what kind of notification whether visual or sound. After the initial Recording trial is over, I simply use the image captures to see what’s going on at my house whenever the cameras are triggered and can quickly switch over to live vireing as recording is not necessary for me. This is my go to camera for indoor use. I purchased this one on sale $30 off of regular price which is a great deal

I use these cameras for watching everything around the house. I watch the dogs inside and I have cameras pointing out windows to catch anything going on around my home. Nest cams are the easiest cameras to hook up. It's plug in and record. You need an app on your phone or computer to watch everything but that's easy to load and set up. Nest can walk you through everything. Best deal in town.

This was my first smart camera of any kind. Got it on sale and at the price it is great. Easy to install and setup, great picture quality in both light and dark situations.

It sucks the life out of your phone battery. I can't leave it on and running for long periods of time. I wish you could see the whole screen when you are using the speaker. Maybe you can from an ipad or computer but from your phone the speaker button takes up most of the screen. Sometimes it's hard to tell if the camera is in real time. If it weren't for my ceiling fans running I would not know if the camera was in real time or not. Cuts out alot. The picture on the camera is great and I like that it is small and you can position it at different angles.

I have purchased 5 of theses. I have purchased one for my Son in law. The night vision is awesome along with audio. It’s great being able to see what my dogs are up to.

They are nice and sturdy. Great customer service from nest. Easy quick install. The cloud service is less expensive when you buy it for the year upfront. Footage over an hour is saved as condensed. That was the only disappointing discovery.

Purchased originally for parent at assisted living. Was able to monitor from home. Now we use the Nest camera at our home. Has a great wide range and excellent sound.
