Here are some suggested troubleshooting steps you can try out:
- Check the OS version of your mobile phone device. We recommend the following versions:
Android phone or tablet with Android 8.0 or later, and iPhone or iPad with iOS 14.0 or later versions.
- Try updating the Google Home app by going to the Google Play Store and searching for the Home app. Once you find it, tap on Update.
- Try installing the Google Home app, using the same account, on another mobile phone or tablet device, and see if you will experience the issue.
- If you don't experience the same issue with another device, we recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app on the main mobile phone device.

However, our priority is to make the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Other benefits of using the Home app includes the following:
- Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.

We’re also focused on giving our customers value for the price, including three hours of event history right out of the box for the first time ever. On-device processing also gives our customers smart alerts and Activity Zones, which historically have required a subscription. There's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your camera is connected to the internet. However, you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to record video and receive advanced notifications. With a Nest Aware subscription your video will be saved to the cloud and you’ll get extra features. Nest Aware is a paid subscription service you can use with your Nest products to help keep you informed about important events at your home. We understand that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing the Nest cameras using the Nest app. However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. Users with older cameras, like you, can view camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams.
