Makes no sense. I want this feature as my dog likes to bark and would like to know when he is doing it

We're sorry to learn that your experience with Nest Cam (indoor, wired) has been less than ideal when it comes to notifying you with sound alerts. Be advised that with a Nest Aware subscription, you can send different alerts for different sounds. Your Nest Cam can tell the difference between a person speaking and a dog barking. You can pick which sounds you want to get alerts about and which ones your camera should ignore. Expensive but Quality product

Better deal and linked right up to my google home network. It works great with my nest display, and notifies when it detects movement. When we travel I aim it at my driveway and get a notification whenever it sees movement.

These are your cameras.

Audio is good too, except when your watching your stream in the same room. For some reason you get an audio feedback loop to the point it will start screeching. Cons: Video quality is not that great even if you update the settings. I used to have a smartthings camera and the video quality on that is much clearer. However, that camera will only record in ten second intervals since they updated the software and you miss a lot of valuable footage. -Orienting the camera can be a little difficult depending on how you want it placed due to the "stand" its on. And you can only rotate the view by 180. So depending how you want it placed, your video may be side-ways. -This will NOT work in the nest app. It only works in the google home app.

You can always adjust the camera settings like video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and use activity zones to monitor specific areas. For optimal video quality at 1080p, an internet connection upload speed with at least 2 Mbps per camera is recommended (DSL may not qualify).
If you need to mount your Google Nest camera on a ceiling or overhang, you can simply attach the wall plate with the included screws, then secure the magnetic plate onto the backplate, and the magnetic plate can firmly hold your camera in place. The included stand is ideal for simply placing your camera indoors on a shelf, desk or counter. Just plug in the power cord and adjust the camera so it points where you want. You can also mount it with the screws to a wall or other surface. Take precautions and securely mount your camera if you plan to install it more than 6.5 ft (2 m) above the ground. Then you can use the Home app to get the view you want, and adjust the video so that it's right side up. In many cases, you can simply turn or twist the camera. If that’s not possible, you can flip the video 180 degrees with the Home app.

It does everything we need it to do, the app makes everything very easy to use and pretty seamless especially with adding any new equipment. It’s really helped add a bit of peace of mind for the security of our home and family.

The cord was a good length as well

The issue may be related to a power issue. We recommend plugging your camera into a different power outlet and checking if it turns on. If your camera works with the new outlet without turning off again, you might have to move your camera or contact an electrician to fix the outlet. However, if power is on for your home but your camera doesn't seem to work in any outlet, the power cable might have an issue. Replace the cable and check whether your camera works.
