Nice camera

I’m trying to stay with google products to work with my google hub. I would have chosen the ring option if it was compatible

Works great but can’t stream

Video is of good quality on my iPhone. Issue I have is Google has blocked the ability’s to stream to another device, like a TV. The Nest doorbell camera is allowed to stream

Currently using it in my nursery for its connection to the google cast device.

Video quality sub par.

Must manually adjust the view. Frequently loses connection to wifi but reconnects quickly in most cases. There are times it must be rebooted to work properly. The good thing about this cam is it does stream from the Google nest hub max easily. I do not recommend it unless you are deep in the google ecosystem

A range issue or wireless interference can affect the overall performance of your camera. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the camera and your router as these items could block the connection. Also, you can adjust your cameras’ video quality that can improve the resolution. The higher the video quality setting you choose, the sharper and more detailed your footage can be, but it also uses more of your internet bandwidth. This setting lets you choose the maximum video quality for your cameras. And whichever level you pick, your camera will automatically adjust its resolution and compression according to how much bandwidth is available. You can visit the Google Nest Help Center to learn more on how to change the video quality.

The old app you can much more easily scroll through your sight line time lapse. At least the hardware is cheaper.

Meanwhile, we suggest having the latest version of the Google Home app that may improve camera playback controls to make it easier to play, pause, and navigate between events from the camera history view in the Google Home app.

Easy to Use Camera System

It was nice have the peace of mind. Then I needed to hire a dog sitter. Having the camera let me keep an eye on the dogs and how they were being taken care of! Great view. Great clarity. Hooks up to google home with an ease.

Support claimed it was overheating, but it's in a north-facing Window that never gets sun at any time during the day. It's indoors at 69F and 45% humidity. Replaced the camera and same issue with the new unit. Never had this problem with other products used in the same location. Will return it and try something else.

if your camera or doorbell’s video looks bad, but it has a good Wi-Fi connectionand is not exposed to direct sunlight, this can happen if your camera gets too hot or too cold, and can be avoided by these:
- Avoid placing your camera near objects that can cause overheating like light bulbs, lamps, large equipment/appliances, air vents, etc. Your camera needs good air circulation. Never install it in any kind of small box or enclosure as this can cause overheating.
- Your doorbell/camera's video might also have a pink, blue or purple hue if there's a problem with the Night vision. You can check this link to learn more about the night vision video quality: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9259738

Delayed notifications can be caused by several reasons such as Wi-Fi network congestion, wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or devices nearby, and other Wi-FI settings. We suggest checking your mobile phone’s network connectivity, rebooting your Nest Cam (indoor,wired) or doing a factory reset.

Swing and a Miss!

You cannot use the "Nest" android app with this camera, so if you're like me with a Nest wired doorbell and outdoor nest cameras, you can't have them all in one app. This camera requires you to use the Google "Home" app, which is garbage in my opinion. Doesn't have nearly close to the same usability as the Nest app does. Also, you can no longer have multiple cameras on different Wifi networks on the same Aware account.

Also, there's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your doorbell is connected to the internet. However, you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to record video and receive advanced notifications. Our goal is to give users more options. Event detection and notifications depend on the doorbell settings that you select. You can choose which events your doorbell can detect and record (people, motion, package, etc.). From there, you (and each member of your home) can decide which of those events to get notifications for. If an event is turned off, you won’t get notifications for that kind of activity. You can also change the settings like adjusting video quality, wake-up sensitivity, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas.

Does Not Work With Nest App

It is clunky and annoying. You also can’t mute the camera if you view the live feed even if you turn your volume all the way down. I dropped ease of use to 2 stars because of this. Google needs to allow the use of the Nest app again. It’s really unfortunate. I’m keeping the camera, but I will continue to complain about it. I would only recommend this camera if you don’t know how awesome the Nest app is.

Decent camera

And these cameras only show up in the Google Home app along with older Nest camera's; they do not show up in the Nest app.
