    We are replacing our Google Nest cameras with a real camera system. The face detection seldom works, video clips are nearly impossible to review and export, and are often unavailable right when needed urgently. Google seems to make very little effort to develop or enhance the application and capabilities of the app, seemingly more focused on getting a little bit into a million things rather than actually making a product with good user experience. The doorbell can be useful at times but overall we regret investing in the over priced Google devices instead of a real camera system where we can access the cameras in real time and easily review and export footage of critical events. I would definitely not want to depend on the Google devices for security, they are more for convenience only to know when a package is delivered.

    I’ve noticed these newer cameras that they came out with do not record as much as before and for some reason my camera turns off by itself even I’m trying to use it. The older model indoor camera is a lot better cause I still have one and stays on 24/7 recording every bit of video which I like.

    This extra Camera makes me feel better when I need extra "eyes". Portable set up so can be a baby cam or keep an eye on workers in the house!

    Second time I used these. Great east to install. Great use it all the time to make sure all is good. Buying more so I can install outside of my house.

    Solid camera. I can’t transfer the annual subscription from my old broken google cam which is a pain so lower rating for that.

    Great little camera, I purchased it to be a doggy cam to check on my pups while at work. Now I use it for so much more.

    Wouldn’t buy if I were you

    Camera will not connect to the nest app, only google home app which is not as user friendly. The Picture quality is terrible! We are returning it for the old indoor camera which I would recommend that or switch to ring.

    Great camera for a google smart home setup. although does not show on the NEST home app because of some weird google decision with 2nd and 3rd gen models.

      The new Nest Cam (indoor, wired) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

    Google has ruined Nest

    Not Best Buy's fault but this thing is trash. Replaced my original DropCam with this new Nest Cam because after 8 years it finally gave out. 1st off, I couldn't add it with the Nest app and had to download and install it with the Google Home app (WORST THING EVER! DO BETTER GOOGLE!). Once it was installed, I could see it and my other 2 cameras through the Home app but could only see my 2 existing cameras on my Nest app. Camera seemed to be fine... for about 6 hours. Then the video crapped out and started showing dark horizontal lines that seemed to "walk" up the screen. I tried to record the transition so I could send to Google and guess what! You can't record clips on the Home app unless it detects an "event"... again, TRASH! I've spent thousands of dollars on Nest products just so Google could come along and ruin it all. Looking into other solutions and this Google Nest branded stuff is going right into the garbage where it belongs!

    Great camera quality and size, however, the facial recognition takes a step back from the previous model. Still a good value for the money.

      If you have more than one camera that can use familiar face detection, here’s how they work:
      - You need to turn familiar face detection on or off for each camera individually.
      - If you turn off familiar face detection for one of your cameras, it can only send you person alerts. You should continue to get unfamiliar face alerts from any other cameras that have familiar face detection turned on.
      - All your cameras in the same home share the same familiar face library. If you add a new camera to the same home, it uses the same familiar face library as the other cameras in your home, so you don’t have to teach it as much.
      - If some cameras have a 1st gen Nest Aware subscription but others don’t, you can only use familiar face detection for the cameras with a subscription.

    Good quality; however the auto detect feature may need to be reviewed. Someone entered my home for insect spraying while I was at work, but I was not alerted.

    I do not like that you cannot access via the old nest app, nor can you stream via the web. Big disappointments.
