We understand that you have enjoyed using both the browser on your computer and the Nest app, to view your video feed on Nest cameras. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell, making them exclusive to the Google Home app. We wanted to make the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. If you're willing to try, you may set up your Nest cameras to the Google Home app by following the guide on this help article: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9893532

I purchased 3 new cameras to add to my existing system. The new NEST cameras are no longer compatible with nest app.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.tried to use them for outdoor recording out a bedroom window and they did not work...tried to find the indoor/outdoor wired nest camera, but all you had was the one with the battery, which i do not want...Kinda disappointed with Nest, since being bought by google..not as good reception on their app.

Not a NEST CAM! Deceiving

But when i tried to add this product, no bar code, no product listing. Spent time searching for answers only to learn this is a GOOGLE ecosystem cam, and NOT a Nest cam. Meaning, you need two different apps, to setup and to view history. This is merger 101 gone wrong. Priority should be to merge usability, not introduce another system without warning consumers. Super frustrating and returning. Let me know after you fix it.

The new Nest Cam (indoor, wired) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.
