    Product was not easy to install purchased 5 of them 3 of them gave me a hard time with installation.

    Unit will not go on and off for home and.away even.though it is set to do so.

    Not great as previous Nest Cams

    I'm not happy with the new Nest Cams. I have previous Nest cams and the software was awesome, I'm not sure why google didn't expand on that software and made it better. They created their own which is terrible. This new cams use google and it doesn't even give you an option to look at your cameras through your laptop or desktop.

      We understand that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app and web app. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. Our teams are working on enabling the ability to set up and control older Nest cameras in the Home app so users will have one app to control all of their devices, and we’re working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app as we want to create an integrated experience with other Nest and smart home devices.

      Hello Abmo, thanks for leaving feedback about the Nest Cam (indoor, wired), and it’s unfortunate to hear of your issues with the image quality, and with viewing live video.

      A range issue or wireless interference can affect the performance of your doorbell. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. If you're experiencing a spotty connection or weak signal, we recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested. Which may happen if you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network. If your doorbell is mounted too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using an extender, boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points.

      Here are some steps that may also help:
      - Plug your Nest camera into a different power outlet to rule out power issues.
      - Turn off other devices connected to your WiFi to see if this is about network traffic.
      - You can also try restarting your router to reset your internet connection. You should also restart any Wi-Fi range extenders or repeaters that you have.

    White screen on video

    It worked fine for about 2 months and then the video was just white, but the audio still worked. If the camera was turned off and then back on, the video would work for maybe a few days and then the video would be white again.

    I’m a camera installer by trade. A customer really wanted to try the Nest cameras, so we picked up ten cameras of a few models and gave it a shot. The take always are not good. I cannot recommend these cameras to anyone. - it’s at best just one quarter the resolution you can find in similarly priced 4K cameras. - the clarity does not live up to the expectation or the hype -the cameras have comparably limited features. The frame can only be rotated 180 degrees, there is no option for 90 degrees, every professional camera system I work with has those options, and many more. - the 134 degree lens would be useful if it had higher resolution, but that’s just too wide a field of view for a decent picture at 1080p. - the camera housing articulation does not give you the same flexibility that a proper 4K camera would give you. Inevitably you will have a few wonky pictures if doing 5 or more cams. - loading the cameras into the google home app is exceptionally time consuming, with literally dozens of unnecessary prompts. If your phone and the camera are not connected to the same access point at the same time, the cameras will not connect. So you must be physically next to the camera to pull them into google home. - google did not improve their 2nd generation product, meaning that the 2nd gen cameras have lower performance specs than their predecessors. -huge bandwidth problems. 10 cameras can chew up to 50Mbps of upload, which nobody without fiber service can achieve. -the Internet service providers get twitchy when you’re pulling that kind of upload bandwidth 24/7. If they have the ability to throttle you, they eventually will. All in all this appears to be the folly of a search engine trying to be a surveillance manufacturer, when there are existing surveillance manufacturers in the market who are simply better at what they do.

      Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired) comes with a 2-megapixel color sensor, with support for HDR and a resolution of up to 1080p (1920 x 1080) at 30 frames/sec. However, if you see a lesser video quality than what is prescribed, we recommend checking for possible congestion in your network, or that your bandwidth may not be sufficient. Removing some of your connected devices may help relieve some bandwidth space, and you may check if you still experience any drop with the video quality. Verifying congestion may require you to contact your Internet service provider to check your connection and upgrade it if needed.

    Hate this camera. Wish I bought the older version. The display is terrible, doesn't show the entire room and I can't connect it with the rest of our google products. It also broke right after purchase and fell off the wall. Wish I could return it.

      The new Nest Cam (indoor, wired) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.
