I originally purchased the outdoor wireless camera but had problems before even installing it so I chose this and and have it aimed out the window. My goal was to have all cameras on one platform and Google was the easiest choice as we have the Nest doorbell.

They provide some peace of mind when hours away. We purchased two open box models, which came separately (?) but in decent shape.

Perfect except having to use the google home app. We have two old legacy nest cams and they work fine with the old app. I wish google would integrate the features of the nest app to google home.

Nice camera, but not the original

You would think it would be backwards compatible but it's not. Google is trying to force us into using Google home which is not as user friendly as the nest app.

The new Nest Cam (indoor, wired) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

If you need to mount your Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired) on a ceiling or overhang, or at an odd angle to get the view you want, you can adjust the video so that it's right side up. In many cases, you can simply turn or twist the camera. Works for most uses

We have it installed in a vacation home and connected to the Google Home Hub. Lets me see what's going on inside the house. We don't have it connected to a "security system" or anything like that. But with the Google Home app I can see if anything is going on in the house. The picture is fine

It has issues with distinguishing when night mode should be activated. And when lights are on inside my home, it makes weird purple waves down the video stream. I also really dislike the google home app, it’s ridiculous that this camera cannot be added to my google nest app (where my doorbell camera and thermostats are). I don’t need anything amazing quality, so this camera is fine for me. If you want perfection, this isn’t the way to go. Google’s subscription costs are also outrageously high and going up apparently, so that’s also something to consider.

We're sorry to hear that your experience with the device when activating night mode has been less than ideal. The new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Google Home app, but you can view both your old and new Nest Cams together in the Google Home app.
