    Works well, great quality camera. Only negative - it does make a slight clicking sound (camera taking pictures?) when it sees someone.

There are some compute limitations on some versions of Chromecast that do not allow us to support this yet, but we’re aiming to add support as soon as possible as the team continuously evaluates additional features.     Horrible ‘upgrade’ from Nest IQ

    Horrible! We have been using Nest products for years. We have the Nest IQ cameras. They are 8 megapixel. This ‘new’ one is 2! The night vision is non existent. The quality of this camera is AWFUL. I don’t know why they would downgrade so much. Also, the new one is not compatible with the best app. You will have to set it up through Google Home to view the camera, but if you have older cameras, those will stay in the nest App. I really hope someone in product development at Nest realizes they made a horrible product and revert back to what they offered before.

      We chose to transition to the Home app because this app is designed for the future of the smart home, a single place to set up, manage, automate, and control your home. Most home devices are controlled across multiple apps, but we’re working on making the Google Home app the central controller across all your home devices, including Google devices and devices from other brands.

      Here are some other benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam:
      - Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
      - Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, ""Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
      - One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
      - Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.

      Google Nest cameras’ night vision uses high-power infrared (IR) LEDs to illuminate the scene when it's dark. When night vision is set to Auto, Nest cameras wait to switch between normal and night modes only when the light gradually changes. For instance, at dusk or dawn, when the lighting is marginal. If there are any light sources in the area, your camera may be able to see even farther.

      You can adjust your cameras’ video quality that may improve the resolution. The higher the video quality setting you choose, the sharper and more detailed your footage can be, but it also uses more of your internet bandwidth. This setting lets you pick the maximum video quality for your cameras. But whichever level you choose, your camera will automatically adjust its resolution and compression according to how much bandwidth is available.     NOT for those with existing Nest equipment

    Maybe good if new to Google/Nest, horrible bait and switch if an existing Nest customer. You'll be forced to create a Google Home account, which disables most of the Nest integrations (such as turning off the HVAC when there's a fire). Nest smoke detectors aren't supported by the Google Home app, so now you're stuck with two apps. The Google Home app (the only place to access your new camera) is horrible. Home Screen shows useless icons with no current status views until you drill into specific categories or devices. Viewing prior video is based on clips, and can't be smoothly swiped through. This is the first Nest device I've ever returned, and the last I'll ever buy. Google has managed to destroy the Nest brand.

    Solid camera that works very well indoors. We use it for security but also to watch the dogs and talk to them as well (lol) when we are gone for long periods of time.
