If you need to mount your Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired) on a ceiling or overhang, or at an odd angle to get the view you want, you can adjust the video so that it's right side up. In many cases, you can simply turn or twist the camera. It has issues with distinguishing when night mode should be activated. And when lights are on inside my home, it makes weird purple waves down the video stream. I also really dislike the google home app, it’s ridiculous that this camera cannot be added to my google nest app (where my doorbell camera and thermostats are). I don’t need anything amazing quality, so this camera is fine for me. If you want perfection, this isn’t the way to go. Google’s subscription costs are also outrageously high and going up apparently, so that’s also something to consider.

We're sorry to hear that your experience with the device when activating night mode has been less than ideal. The new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Google Home app, but you can view both your old and new Nest Cams together in the Google Home app.

We have it installed in a vacation home and connected to the Google Home Hub. Lets me see what's going on inside the house. We don't have it connected to a "security system" or anything like that. But with the Google Home app I can see if anything is going on in the house. The picture is fine

Easier to wall mount too. The app is disappointing especially with rewinding to see previous events, it's very finicky.

Google says everything will eventually move to Home, but until then there's no way to quickly glance at all your camera views if you add this to a set of existing Nest cams.

They are so user friendly and the picture quality is wonderful. I know people who have other companies and their pictures are not the same quality.

I honestly love the Google Home app and the way I can view all my cameras and get alerts for things such as people, the dog barking, or even just loud sounds. The cable is super long and includes everything needed to mount.

Very happy with the camera and its function. I like how it can be added to my Google Nest subscription.

Audio is good too, except when your watching your stream in the same room. For some reason you get an audio feedback loop to the point it will start screeching. Cons: Video quality is not that great even if you update the settings. I used to have a smartthings camera and the video quality on that is much clearer. However, that camera will only record in ten second intervals since they updated the software and you miss a lot of valuable footage. -Orienting the camera can be a little difficult depending on how you want it placed due to the "stand" its on. And you can only rotate the view by 180. So depending how you want it placed, your video may be side-ways. -This will NOT work in the nest app. It only works in the google home app.

You can always adjust the camera settings like video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and use activity zones to monitor specific areas. For optimal video quality at 1080p, an internet connection upload speed with at least 2 Mbps per camera is recommended (DSL may not qualify).
If you need to mount your Google Nest camera on a ceiling or overhang, you can simply attach the wall plate with the included screws, then secure the magnetic plate onto the backplate, and the magnetic plate can firmly hold your camera in place. The included stand is ideal for simply placing your camera indoors on a shelf, desk or counter. Just plug in the power cord and adjust the camera so it points where you want. You can also mount it with the screws to a wall or other surface. Take precautions and securely mount your camera if you plan to install it more than 6.5 ft (2 m) above the ground. Then you can use the Home app to get the view you want, and adjust the video so that it's right side up. In many cases, you can simply turn or twist the camera. If that’s not possible, you can flip the video 180 degrees with the Home app.
