Quality indoor camera!

Performance is very good and setup is not tough. They have discontinued the nest aware subscription and you need to use google home app.

You can get 30 days of Event video history, Intelligent alerts, access to clips and time lapses and even customizing your own activity zones with the basic Nest Aware subscription of $6/month or $60/year (save $12 annually). Alternatively, you also have the Nest Aware Plus option, where you get all the features on the basic Nest Aware subscription, plus 60 days of Event video history and up to 10 days of continuous video recording at $12/month or $120/year (save $24 annually). Replacement device works great without any blacking out while viewing live feed. I use this as a baby monitor, and it works great! Night vision is clear, and sound comes across clear as well.

The new Nest Cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Google Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with other Google Nest speakers and displays. We wanted to make the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Posted .Hi johnny, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you’re not always getting notifications from your Nest Cam (indoor,wired).
Motion detection for your Nest Cam (indoor,wired) can be affected by changes in the light level, and shadows moving across the frame like when a cloud moves in front of the sun. This also includes other movements within the camera's field of view like trees or bushes swaying. If you're not getting any alerts or notifications, we recommend trying out the steps below:
1. Change the Activity Zones on your camera. You can delete your existing Activity Zone and create a new one in any area within your camera's field of view. Just make sure that none of the zones you create overlap.
2. Change the angle of your camera and account for the lighting in the surrounding area.
3. Restart your Camera.

The pictures are clear even at night. The app sends a notification, if you want, any time the device is triggered.

Picture quality is perfectly adequate. For the $100 price, it’s a solid camera if you are in the Nest ecosystem. Unlike the new outdoor/battery cameras (which I also have), this unit records 24/7 video vs just event history. If you aren’t in the Nest ecosystem, there are cheaper alternatives that offer the same video quality and similar features. Also note, annoyingly (and this has nothing to do with the camera itself) Google’s migration from the Nest app to Google Home isn’t complete, and this camera isn’t compatible with the Nest app, which impacts the user experience for those who already have older Nest products.
