We like that they are AC powered, so no batteries to keep charged. We have seven of these models (and several outdoor models). We are still on the Nest trial which gives us 30 days of history, not sure if we will opt for higher subscription which gives us 60 days of event history and 10 days of 24/7 video history.

Looks and feels great. Image quality is solid, but you may see issues with staying connected. Home app requied and isnt able to be seen in the Nest app. Which is a shame as the controls in the Google home app are trash.

Posted .Hi Bork, it's great to hear that you're liking the build quality, hardware, design and image quality of Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired). However, we're sorry if you're experiencing connectivity issues and that the Google Home app didn't quite meet your expectations.
Here are some recommended steps you can try out and see if it might be helpful with the connectivity issues:
- Check for possible congestion in your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices can help free up some bandwidth space. You may then check to see if you will still experience the same connectivity issue.
- Check for possible sources of interference such as the thick walls and appliances in your home.
We wanted to make the Google Home app as the one place where you can control all your favorite Nest devices and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam (Battery):
- Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, """"Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.
