    Had to upgrade with the 2nd gen indoor camera was released. Better all around at a cheaper price. Wish this camera came with a battery back-up as the new outdoor camera. Communication is a little laggy sometimes but overall you can hear and be heard.

      Laggy issues may be related to the any of the following reasons below:
      - Possible congestion of your network. Removing some of your connected devices may free up some bandwidth space and enable you to test if the issue will happen again. Once you verify congestion, we recommend contacting your Internet service provider for a possible upgrade of your bandwidth connection.
      - Interference caused by electrical appliances and thick walls in your home. Placing your Nest Cam much closer to your router, or in a location where it can get better signal reception may be helpful.

    Very sleek, but could use more features

    Easy set up and works well with all my other Google home devices. There's no way to disable the led light so it can be kind of distracting as a baby monitor, but ultimately gets the job done

      If you're willing to try, it's possible to change the brightness of the LED for Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired). You can use the Google Home app to change the brightness of its status light by following the steps below:
      - Open the Google Home app.
      -On the home screen, tap your camera or doorbell.
      - Tap Settings.
      - Select Video.
      - Under “Status light brightness,” choose High, Auto, or Low.

    Finally a camera that has great quality, shows me continuous stream without timing out (cough cough BLINK!) and integrates with my smart home system. In love with this for our baby’s room!

    Started okay; now a potential source for epilepsy

    Almost one year after, the camera flashes/flickers violently. Have to manually disconnect the product (& re-plug) and the problem will go away temporarily (but comes back too quickly). I put my camera in night vision mode nowadays to prevent epilepsy.

    We uae this camera as a toddler monitor in our little girls room and it works much better than any of the baby monitors on the market for a fraction of the price.

    This extra Camera makes me feel better when I need extra "eyes". Portable set up so can be a baby cam or keep an eye on workers in the house!

    Junk compared to the Original Nests

    I have 9 Original Nest Thermostats, 2 doorbells, and 4 cameras. Google ruined Nest, it’s not a Nest anymore without the functionality of the Nest app nor is the actual camera as good as the original. Google Home is just another poorly built privacy and data grab app by Google. It’s so bad you have to use the Nest app to add the camera to Google Home, but they intentionally won’t let you see your “new” camera in Nest. REALLY? What a joke. This is all a way to force you to google home. If you wanted me in google home then adapt Google home to Nest, then I might consider migrating. They admit they are trying to force you to their inferior Home app in many of the complaint reviews about the app. Don’t have Alexa, don’t want google spying on every word I say just so I can turn my lights on. This “google” camera replaced a Nest I moved outside. The google camera does not have remotely the same flexibility of the “true” Nest it replaced. It’s harder to see the video feed in the home app vs the Nest app, it’s harder to add to the home app than it was in Nest. If you are a google drone already, you will probably not care. If you are legacy Nest, everything about the Google migration and the hardware is inferior. When google quits supporting the Nest App, I’m converting to something else, if one of my Legacy Nest products breaks, I’m replacing with anything but a google product.

      The new Nest Cam (indoor, wired) is exclusive to the Home app. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

    Solid camera. I can’t transfer the annual subscription from my old broken google cam which is a pain so lower rating for that.
