    Camera will not integrate with old nest products on the nest app. Worthless if you are trying to continue to use the nest system as it was intended

    Good camera. Only thing I don't like is it will go offline sometimes just like my nest cameral does. Picture is great though, especially at night.

    Worse than the Gen 1 black nest cameras. Google has bought nest and just made it worse.

    I'm done with Google

    I spent over an hour trying to get this camera to connect to wifi but kept getting an error. Since Google took over Nest everything has unfortunately gone downhill. The new Google cameras also don't work in the old nest app and the old nest cameras don't work correctly in the Google home app. I finally got fed up and returned the Google Cam and exchanged it for a simplisafe. I had the simplisafe camera hooked up and connected to wifi in like 2 minutes.

    Do not buy if you have other nest cameras!

    First of all, do not buy if you use the Nest app to consolidate all nest devices. They force you to use the google home app which is garbage, slow and makes no sense why they would change it. 2nd: the quality of this camera compared to the other nest camera's is very noticeable and not in a good way. Do not buy!

    Camera and resolution are good and visibility at night is great even with night vision off. The issue is the lack of ability to take pictures or record when you want, save any footage even though you have the nest subscription. If Google wants to stay relevant with the competition they need to update the controls and software environment and give more control to the owners.

      You have the ability to download multiple video clips that event video history automatically captures. If you have event video history, your Nest camera will automatically generate a video clip of the activity that you can download. If you have 24/7 video history and want to create a video clip of a specific event you will need to download one of the automatically generated video clips and edit using your phone’s native video editor.

      We request for your patience as we’re working on a seamless solution to create a better user experience. And we suggest having the latest version of the Google Home app that may improve camera playback controls to make it easier to play, pause, and navigate between events from the camera history view for cameras set up in the Google Home app.

    Not Nest anymore. Getting worse.

    With this camera you can’t even with subscription have real 24/7 video. And you can’t use web interface to cut needed portion of video you needed. It use only application and video as combined shots as video. Video quality not so great. Always visible recording led light (use tape to cover it if needed). Application usage vs web (Nest): web interface was much better and more options. App is very limited.

    Google took a perfectly good product and crapized it. Image quality is poor when compared to 1st generation. Night vision doesn't hold up either. Swapped this one previous version in two rooms and you can SEE the difference. More clarity and not as fish eyed a look. Also, cannot connect or view through Nest app. Have to use Google Home. Lame. Will be buying a previous version in the coming weeks. Sell this one at a discount.

      We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app or web app, however, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. Our teams are working on enabling the ability to set up and control older Nest cameras in the Home app so users will have one app to control all of their devices, and we’re working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app as we want to create an integrated experience with other Nest devices. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams. Also, using the Google Home app provides you with a lot of benefits including access to Google's trusted security platform and access to other Google tools and with seamless integration with other devices from other brands.

      You can adjust your cameras’ video quality that may improve the resolution. The higher the video quality setting you choose, the sharper and more detailed your footage can be, but it also uses more of your internet bandwidth. This setting lets you pick the maximum video quality for your cameras. But whichever level you choose, your camera will automatically adjust its resolution and compression according to how much bandwidth is available.     Nest Cam not compatible with Nest app anymore

    After using Nest app with all my 12 nest cams , I but a few of these new Nest Wired cameras only to find out Nest app not compatible with the Nest cameras . I now have to go into Google home browse through all my google devices in order to find the nest cam i want to open and see the live feed . Too much of a hassle . Why ruin something great . By Nest Cam , have to look somewhere else for security cameras now.

      The Google Home app will walk you through setup and installation, and if your camera has trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi, here are a few things you can do that may help:

      - Move your camera closer to your Wi-Fi router to improve the signal.

      - Try to restart your router.
      - If you have a hidden Wi-Fi network, you need to type in the network name (SSID) manually.

    Normally, I like Nest products, but since they’ve collaborated with Google, they’ve turned into a pain in the rear. I can’t get this new camera added to my system and Google Home is absolutely no help. Hopefully when my son comes to visit, he can get it installed for me

    Does not allow you to set a schedule

    Don't get this if you want to be able to set a schedule. With this camera you are forced to use Google home vs. nest app. Google home has no way to set a schedule to receive alerts for example between 9am - 5pm. Its either all or nothing.

The camera schedule feature is currently only available for cameras controlled by the Nest app. Alternatively, you can use Home & Away Routines (Home app) to turn your camera on and off automatically. This is especially useful if your camera has 24/7 video history, so that it doesn't constantly upload video to the Nest service.
