Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Nest Cam IQ Indoor's camera quality, ease of use, and facial recognition capabilities. Many also appreciate the straightforward setup and reliable performance. While some find the price high and a subscription necessary for full functionality, positive feedback on features like night vision and motion detection outweighs these concerns for most users.

This camera is the bomb.. we use it to also check in with our dogs while we are away and it detects motion and sends it to our phones and Apple Watch.. we are able to talk to our pets also!! If it sees motion it will automatically zoom in to what is moving on the person ex.. hand movement.. it’s a very smart camera with great quality!! Would recommend

Cool product. Great at detection and easy to use. Facial recognition could get a little better, but I think that will work itself out.

This camera is working out really well. It's a great way to dive into home surveillance without spending extra $$ on professional installation. I already had the Nest app for my thermostat so the setup was very simple. The live video feed is impressive. The camera has built in two-way communication with great audio. Also, it has been a great way to keep an eye my dog while I'm at work. She is prone to seizures, and this camera has really helped to document her episodes so we can make adjustments to her medication. I am able to download the video clips and show them to our Vet with exact time/date, duration, and severity.

Great camera. I took one star away because there is a monthly subscription fee for additional features. Other than that it works great.

Very easy to install not many parts to worry about. Good quality picture / video. I gave it a three star rating due to the subscription. If you need one camera or two this will work for you. When you have five or six cameras it can get expensive with the subscription and the purchase of the cameras. They need to have a more affordable plan for those who have more then two cameras. It cost $50 / year for your first camera and any additional cameras cost $30/ year. This plan is only for five days video playback. It gets more expensive if you want thirty days video playback. In the long period of time your subscription will be very expensive. There are other video surveillance cameras that have good quality video and no subscription but installing them can be a pain. If you don’t mind putting in the work go with a a more affordable and no subscription system.

I love this little camera. The reason why I purchased this is because I need to watch my cats and see who comes or comes out of my room. Great quality... even night vision! I love it when it alerted me every time someone comes in my room and I immediately called/texted to see why they get in lol.

Nest is the best, but you have to have a subscripton for the best service, the picture quality is awesome and clear, the best in the industry, I just wished they would lower the prices, all the other companies are more affordable

Great camera! A lot better than their regular one, but more expensive too! Way overpriced for electronics especially these days when everyone is making similar items for half, but it does work great with the rest of my Nest stuff.

    Best of the indoor cameras

Posted 2/25/20 Nest (owned by google) has made its reputation on high quality sensors and great features packed into an easy to use app that easily pairs with other nest cameras for a great indoor outdoor security package with the option of 30 day storage for your security footage (for a price, of course). When reviewing I use a proprietary list to get a x/100 score and here's how the Google - Nest Cam IQ Indoor (latest gen as of 2/22/20) 1/10 = bad 5/10 = average 10/10 = Significantly above average Value- 8/10 it is a great value and while it is on the pricey side it has all the top features you would want but will need to be replaced likely in >5 years the way this segment is advancing. Design- 10/10 very sleek and minimal and an apple like design with everything it needs and nothing it doesn't. Usability- 10/10 from setup to everyday using the app is by far where it shines the most. Most others and especially the amazon blink app are absolutely horrid. Practicality- 9 /10 everything this camera does is the best and it is extremely practical from looking to telling you who is walking in from school to a motion has been sensed. point off as it sometimes doesn't recognize every face especially with hats and hoods on. Reliability/longevity - 10/10 I can for sure depend on this to be a second set of eyes and I don't see why the camera would ever go bad as camera sensors and nest aren't known to just fail. I can easily see this product lasting until I upgrade it without a doubt. Longevity (how long until it needs upgraded)- 6/10 3-4 years as this sector is growing fast and new features are sure to make this dated in <5 years but doesn't make this less of a good camera. Build Quality- 10/10 made from high end materials and uses usb-c (and a long high quality cord as well) that make it obvious that you are paying for a premium security product. Features- 10/10 it has everything every other camera has all packaged into one and doesn't charge a hefty monthly fee like xfinity does for cameras that take 20 seconds to boot up and are lagging behind by 30 seconds. Every feature it has is executed well and it doesn't do anything half way. Foreseeable issues- the cord is long however not insanely long so if you need more than ~10 feet then you should invest in a way to extend the power cable via extension cord or an even longer USB type-c cord should that fit your needs better. Compared to the Competition- 10/10 Absolutely demolishes even the best of the rest. Amazon inst even near and Xfinity should take notes. Ring door bells are very nice and it would be great for Nest to produce a product like that so if that fits your desire more then that would be an OK alternative however nobody can stand and trade punches with these NestCam's. How it performs its design task(ie. a fan can have all the features but suck at actually being a fan)- 9/10 it has a great 4k sensor with zoom and a spectacular night sensor and switches between seamlessly and at the perfect moments so your footage isn't blown out or too dark. Face Identification is good but will get better with time as it needs more references and help in the beginning but is still within the realm of reliable and always errors on the side of caution. Reoccurring charges (if applicable)- 4.99 monthly fee to access video for up to 7 days (more than enough if an incident happens) Final score- 92/100 Summary- If you are on edge just go ahead and pull the trigger, this camera is the best along with a near perfect app and multiple cameras fit together seamlessly with little to no issues.

Excellent camera paired with NestAware. I’ve used other cameras that only capture at sign of first motion but I prefer being able to scrub through video and see how things developed. Face recognition is a nice additional feature but not a must have.

While I haven’t been able to fully test it out because Best Buy keeps pestering me for a quick review, I can say this product has been exceptional so far. The picture quality is really good, night vision is great. So far, no complaints here!

Outstanding video technology with great clarity and always on technology. Not sure about the facial recognition capability just yet, but if its anything like the outdoor camera, it is really good. Easy to set up and get going.
