Good response for alerts, dismayed at the video quality across the room. Room is approximately 20 feet across. I would have expected much better detail. It also has problems recognizing faces at that distance. That being said the setup and use is extremely easy!!

Over $1000 camera investment and $300 dollars a year in subscription costs and they still don’t work right. If you're looking for a camera that simply captures video, this may work for you however, if you're looking for a camera that integrates with other home automations, sends alerts as advertised or has a support organization that actually provides support and not a web page FAQ, you have to look elsewhere. I pay for services that haven't worked since I purchased these cameras (over two years now). I can't get rid of this garbage given I'm locked into their ecosystem with the thermostat and my initial camera investments. I mistakenly assumed this company had a reputable product and support. One of many issues is this...If you want a camera that sends you notifications when it detects movement or noise, this camera does just that however, if you want to turn off that function/feature when you're home (imagine the number of emails and notifications you get simply walking around your own house) IT DOES NOT WORK!!! So, you're forced to either turn off notifications OR leave them on and receive every movement or noise event when you're home which makes any event notification numbingly useless. Their engineers know it doesn't work and I've had MANY calls, voicemails, and emails trying to force this feature to work. I have tried to warn other consumers and have since been blocked from their Facebook page (really nest, instead of fixing a known problem, you prefer to quiet those speaking about it, REALLY?!?!, speaks volumes). I have been told its a server issue on their end and a fix is "coming", been given a partial service credit one time in two years, given a $50 credit towards the purchase of 1 new camera (event though I have 5 cameras) and the latest I was told from support is, even though the consumer has an option to disable the events in home mode, it's not supported in case a burglar compromises the system!!! Really, I can configure the application to do something you advertise and I pay for but, the system won't function that way because a burglar can compromise the home/away!!! How about you just tell me its broken and you can't seem to fix it rather than insult the consumers intelligence. There is one contact number for this company and it goes to tech support (no manager, no supervisor, just a "senior tech" who's empowered to do nothing), no customer service, no customer retention and no corporate contacts. Speaks volumes to the garbage they produce. They have since stopped replying to emails, don’t return calls and banned me from commenting in public forums(really, what company does that?!?!). I'm not the only consumer with this issue, look at other negative comments you'll see a consistent theme with those that need notification functionality beyond having a simple video camera with a subscription service.

The face recognition is amazing and it does the job 100% of the time!!!!
