These cameras work perfectly for the month they give you the free nest aware account. After that, you're held hostage for the footage. As far as I can tell, there's no way to hook them to your own hard drive. So if you don't pay for the nest aware account, the cameras are virtually useless.

This is a great set of security cameras that are always on, so you don't miss any second of footage and don't need to worry about changing out batteries.

This works far better than Arlo. It DOES have 2 way talking that works in the app. Camera started off working but after 2 weeks started cutting out for video Then stopped altogether Anyone who says this doesn't let you download full clips like the other reviewer just below me- Read the instructions online or use support It DOES allow you to download custom clips of any length not just snapshots Use the desktop version for setting your custom clip The app doesn't allow custom downloads the web page on the full site version does nest get a hint tho and allow custom clips from the cellular app

Nest Cameras are easy to use and easy to set up. We have used these outdoor versions and they stand up to all kinds of weather. Very pleased with them.

Geek Squad protection on electronics is a must! The price makes sense and if you have any issues the team is a huge resource.

These are the best cameras I’ve ever owned. We purchased them to use while we went on vacation. Never had any issues with connectivity or clarity.

They a touch spendy but they work great and obviously play nicely with all the other google/nest stuff

As with all nest products, I completed another nest product I nstalation successfully. Nest makes it easy with their simple to follow directions.

I have had these cameras for a year and they work great. I live in Arizona and these cameras do fine in the hot temperatures.

Good cam. Holds a charge well. Magnetic mounting is handy for temp/semi-permanent installations.

I would recommend this only if you have a really good router and really good internet connection, Router must be a $200+ and internet must be 5mbs+ DL 2mb+ upload

Excellent cameras with great software. Easy to access and identify persons that are in the camera viewing area.

This Nest Camera is a wonderful product and easy to be set up for remote viewing. If you want to have recording, you have to pay for a 10 or 30 day history plan from them.

I had an indoor nest cam for years. Never had any issues with it. We bought new ones to use as security cameras in and out of our home. We decided to exchange for the wireless Arlo however.

After installing the camera I was pleased with the quality and I especially loved the notifications. Little did I know that those notifications go away after the cloud trial period. Silly me, I thought the trial period was for the cloud based storage. Now, I have a device that not only does not record, but also it does not send me notifications. If I want notifications I need to spend an additional $100 per year. I have the nest thermostat and love it. I will most likely return the camera.

I decided to wait to post my review after my 30-day free trial was over. OK! Here is my downfall about this camera. You have to pay yearly $100 for a 10-day recording or $300 for 30-day recording history. If you don't pay for the subscription. You will still get the alert notification on your phone or email account, but you’re not able to see any of the history. You’re able to log into your account and watch a LIVE stream on the camera "only" and that's it... I will say about the alert notifications 99% emails were 3-5 minutes delay. Not one was accurate timing. So for another words your $199 nest camera turned into $299 after your 30 day free trail + plus any additional $100 a year for renewal subscription. Nest does give you a 50% discount if you have any additional cameras added to your subscription. One valuable lesson I did learned - the Nest Cam has a Home/Away Assistance feature. This feature lets the device know when you’re away or at home. This will automatically turn on the camera or off the camera. But, it doesn't record while your home. I set this feature on my setting not realizing every time I came home. It turns off the nest camera from recording. My wife and I had are vehicles broken into when the device was turn off. Due to the Home/Away Assistance. Nothing was being recorded when 5 total strangers were going through our vehicles. (FYI - The suspects wear apprehended) I removed this feature ASAP. For $199 I've seen better cameras that do the same thing, even rotate and record 1080p on a micro-usb. With "NO" $100 annual subscription fees.

The only reason we did not give this product a 5/5 review was because we have had to use our warranty due to malfunctioning of both cameras in the last year.

Aesthetically pleasing with a great quality feel that can be mistaken for an "Apple" product. Video and audio quality is good for keeping tabs on your property, but don't expect to read license plates at >50'.
