We tried one and loved it. Upgraded 4 additional motion activated flood with the added camera. It's nice to know who or what actived the motion detector: prowler, deer , or coyote!!

Great floodlight camera but not so water proof!

The only problem is that although the floodlight has a weather rating of IP 67, the camera itself is only rated IP 54 which makes it water resistant but not water proof. If you placing it somewhere where there is no protection and camera is exposed to rain, think twice. I had to return mine for this issue. If you have a space under a porch or cover, this is a great flood light camera, go for it.

Excellent Vision

Very good integration with the google home app. Took 30 minutes to remove old unit, install and download software. Very easy if you're already familiar with Google Home ecosystem. I also got it on sale for $160.

They just work

My only complaint is that the google nest aware premium subscription is pretty pricy and necessary if you want to get full use of the camera’s features.

Posted .Hey there, Dory. We’re glad that the Nest Cam with floodlight works well, and we hear your concern about its image clarity. Adjusting your camera’s video quality can improve the resolution. The higher the video quality setting you choose, the sharper and more detailed your footage can be, but it also uses more of your internet bandwidth. This setting lets you choose the maximum video quality for your doorbell. But whichever level you pick, your camera will automatically adjust its resolution and compression according to how much bandwidth is available. Great camera

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish it worked with the nest app along with my doorbell and hub max but it only works with the google home app. Any time I go to view the camera, the lights automatically turn on. I’m not able to live view in night vision. To avoid having the lights come on, I can hit the notifications button in the Google home app. This gives all the events from everything in a list, but if nothing has triggered the camera, there is nothing listed. The device itself get 5 stars as it is solid and easy enough to install. The clarity is great and gives a wide angled view that is better than I expected. It has alerted me to several animals to include a rabbit at night about 30 feet away.

Motion detection on Nest Cam (Battery) can be affected by changes in the light level, and shadows moving across the frame like when a cloud moves in front of the sun. This also includes other movements within the camera's field of view like trees or bushes swaying. If you're not getting any alerts or notifications, we recommend trying out the steps below:
1. Change the Activity Zones on your camera. You can delete your existing Activity Zone and create a new one in any area within your camera's field of view. Just make sure that none of the zones you create overlap.
2. Change the angle of your camera and account for the lighting in the surrounding area.
3. Restart your Camera.

They're clear they have a wide range of view and they're easy to interact with with your other Google home devices. Highly recommend these cameras. Unfortunately we weren't able to actually keep this item as we were not able to hardwire it where we needed it so we did return the product, but we have the intention to replace it with another Google camera that just doesn't need to be hardwired in.
