Google doesn't stand by their product unless you buy from the Google Store. I wasted money buying this product and more paying an electrician to install it. I have been awakened by false alarms dozens of times because this camera thinks rain at night is the same as a moving vehicle. Spiders and spider webs also set off the same false alarm. Google support doesn't care. I highly recommend you stay away from all Google cameras and security products. Only thing this protects me from is a good night's sleep. Also, I suspect Google of using AI bots to write fake 5-star reviews to bolster their scores.

Posted .Hi there, BayBay. We’re sorry to hear your experience with the Nest Cam with Floodlight and our support team wasn’t the best — we get how frustrating this can be. Here are a few things to do when you’re getting too many notifications or notifications you may not need:
1. Adjust which activity you get notifications for: If you need to, you can turn off notifications for certain kinds of events so that your camera only sends alerts for types of activity that you care about.
2. Set up Activity Zones to reduce unwanted notifications: If your camera detects a lot of activity in a specific area, you can create a zone and set notifications for activity outside the zone only.

It stores nothing, and they disable every feather of the camera including the zone you want covered with notifications. Of course, this happens right when the item cannot be returned. This is nothing but a ploy to force u to have the monthly coverage. I would never recommend any security feature from google.

I bought it thinking I could use it with the Nest app, it’s way better than the Google app, and it doesn’t work with it. I had already installed it so I kept it. The light could not turn off after a couple of months of use so I had to reset the connection. Google app sucks when it comes to ease of use. Sadly is the only way you can use the camera

The new Nest Cam with Floodlight is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

Highly disappointing

The floodlights always come on as needed/wanted but not the camera. It also sucks that you have to use Google Home App rather than the Nest App because I have other cameras that use Nest. It is a much better app. I am very disappointed in this purchase.

If you're experiencing spotty connection or weak signal, we recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested. This may happen if you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network. Removing other connected devices to your Wi-Fi may relieve network congestion. If the issue persists, we recommend performing a factory reset on your camera. If you have a Nest Aware subscription, make sure to save any important clips before performing a factory reset. The setting option is also great. One thing it does not work with the nest app but the google home is just as great as the best app.
