Your Nest Cam with Floodlight comes with a 130° diagonal field of view and an adjustable camera that you can move to get a better view and focus on the area that you would like to get notifications and video recording whenever it detects motion. We also recommend changing the Activity Zones on your camera. You can delete your existing Activity Zone and create a new one in any area within your camera's field of view. As i am using them now ,i am disappointed. I have 1 that goes off line, ssys the battery is dead. Except its hard wired in. Another i can walk by it repetitively, and nothing gets recorded, or the notification is not sent to the phone, and somehow a 3rd camera changed from 2 devices to 1

Great hardware, doesn't work with Nest app

All the quality you would expect from Google. However, it doesn't work in the Nest app, only in the Google home app. The google home app is garbage. All of my other cameras are in the Nest app which is much more user friendly. If I knew this wouldn't be compatible with the nest app, I wouldn't have bought it.

We believe that Pixel count is only one factor that impacts video quality, and it shouldn’t be the only deciding factor when choosing a camera. Nest Cam with Floodlight has HDR video quality that’s optimized to save battery, while giving you a clear view in bright sun or dark. We recommend removing some of your connected devices in your network to free up some bandwidth space. You may then check to see if the quality for the video feed for Nest Cam with Floodlight will improve.

But if your expecting the camera to show up in the next app your going to be highly disappointed. You also can't get this camera to stream to nest hub max or onto a Google TV like nividia shield. This camera only shows up on Google home, and only on your mobile. Can't view from pixel book either. The nest to Google home migration is a hot mess and I was looking to go Google all in all cameras , but not now If I can't stream on TV and completely upsetting.not even on nest home max.

Excelent Outdoor Camera/Floodlight Combo
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I’m not going to compare this with the Next outdoor camera because I’ve never owned one. I have used a Nest doorbell for years and I couldn’t be happier with the quality and features. So, I could compare image quality to it, but it wouldn’t be apples to apples. Also, I have used different outdoor cameras with built-in light, and I can tell you right now that the floodlight on this camera is way better. I can say that it illuminates my driveway better than most standalone floodlights. That’s where it is outstanding. Camera quality in clear days is very good but not so much in rainy days like the last few weeks where I live. It doesn’t seem to be an issue with the camera quality but with the 1080p instead of 4K resolution. I can say that because comparing with another outdoor security camera at 4K, I can see that the light output shown in both cameras images is very similar, but you can see more details in the 4K one. The good news here is that because of the bright floodlight, the image at night came out better than the 4K. I’m good with that since that’s when you need image quality the most. Its sturdiness makes you feel it will last a long time and I believe it will. Like most newer security cameras, you can set zones to prevent it from capturing movements on the street that are not relevant to you, saving not only power but also your peace of mind. My only complaint here is that the width of view is less than I hoped for. A little bit disappointing, but it makes some sense since it is designed to monitor only your property, not the whole street. Still, it could be wider. Using Google Home to control it is my preferred feature as I have lots of devices controlled by this app and Google Hub. It Very easy to set up and use. Speaking through the camera is also a nice feature. I haven’t used it yet, except for testing but it can be very useful when needed. It is easy to recommend this camera with floodlight, especially if you are willing to pay for the subscription to save the recordings, which is the only major issue that I found with this product. It is limited to recording just a few hours unless you subscribe to its service. Otherwise, it is the camera perfect camera/floodlight combo.

Good but doesn’t work on Nest app.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn’t use the Google Nest camera with flood light because it requires a junction box and if I would have to install one, the camera would stick out another two inches from the wall, while the camera itself already sticks out more than enough. The fact that the camera can easily be taken off means it should be installed way out of reach. For me the installation requires too much effort and would require hundreds of additional dollars too get it working. I returned it unused.

There's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your camera is connected to the internet. If you want to go back and view recorded video, you can view events up to 3 hours in the past. However, you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to record video, receive advanced notifications, to get extra features and to view videos saved in the cloud. Nest Aware is a paid subscription service you can use with your Nest products to help keep you informed about important events at your home. With a Nest Aware subscription, your Nest camera stores video securely to the Nest cloud so you can access it anytime, anywhere.
