That's not saying the video is bad, it's very good for 1080p and it doesn't use up a ton of bandwidth. I plan on purchasing another one to install on the back of my garage.

Great replacement for an old floodlight

The motion detector on this floodlight works perfectly and only lights when it should it should. The video is great and it's interesting to see all the activity in our alley including coyotes and a fox!

We did not want it there permanently so we direct wired. When we go to move it will be a snap not an ordeal. Excellent product!

We replaced existing flood lights with these. The motion detection/range is perfect, the set up went smoothly, and they look sharp. The app works great. We're really happy with the technology.

I already have a nest front door camera so it shares in the video storage. I do get random notifications that someone is in the backyard but nobody is there.

Nice floodlight camera

Video is pretty clear. Can see both of my cameras on the same app. And I get 30 days of history with nest aware for a reasonable price.

The only problem is that although the floodlight has a weather rating of IP 67, the camera itself is only rated IP 54 which makes it water resistant but not water proof. If you placing it somewhere where there is no protection and camera is exposed to rain, think twice. I had to return mine for this issue. If you have a space under a porch or cover, this is a great flood light camera, go for it.

More safety to see what's activated the motion

We tried one and loved it. Upgraded 4 additional motion activated flood with the added camera. It's nice to know who or what actived the motion detector: prowler, deer , or coyote!!

Lights are pretty bright, and adjustable all from the app. Only downside is it works with the Google home app, not nest; and it’s meant to be mounted vertically, not horizontally. There is a simple way to get around that, just check YouTube.

The new Nest Cam with floodlight is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

Posted .Hey there, Dory. We’re glad that the Nest Cam with floodlight works well, and we hear your concern about its image clarity. Adjusting your camera’s video quality can improve the resolution. The higher the video quality setting you choose, the sharper and more detailed your footage can be, but it also uses more of your internet bandwidth. This setting lets you choose the maximum video quality for your doorbell. But whichever level you pick, your camera will automatically adjust its resolution and compression according to how much bandwidth is available. Has a cable to keep battery charged. The night vision is great and the overall design of the light is great. Would definitely recommend it.

Very good integration with the google home app. Took 30 minutes to remove old unit, install and download software. Very easy if you're already familiar with Google Home ecosystem. I also got it on sale for $160.
