Poor product design and worse technical support

Installation was good and I was happy with them until I had to update WiFi settings. My cameras are installed >25 ft above ground and the process to update WiFi requires a manual reset at the unit itself - 1/3 units was a breeze to update; for the other 2, I couldn't get past a "something went wrong" message even with live support from Google Nest Customer Care (tried > 10x for each unit with no success). After repeated communications with Google, I got an email indicating a product replacement would be the next step. I'm still waiting for the promised email with links to initiate re-order process. I've tried to reach out to Google Customer Care via email and chat and get no responses after a week. I feel so dumb for believing the Google name would equate to a superior product with incredible technical support. I hope this review helps others not fall in the same trap as I (and wish no one has to update their WiFi ever)

I already have a nest front door camera so it shares in the video storage. I do get random notifications that someone is in the backyard but nobody is there.

Really good floodlights

Lights are pretty bright, and adjustable all from the app. Only downside is it works with the Google home app, not nest; and it’s meant to be mounted vertically, not horizontally. There is a simple way to get around that, just check YouTube.

The new Nest Cam with floodlight is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

We tried one and loved it. Upgraded 4 additional motion activated flood with the added camera. It's nice to know who or what actived the motion detector: prowler, deer , or coyote!!

Video is pretty clear. Can see both of my cameras on the same app. And I get 30 days of history with nest aware for a reasonable price.

We did not want it there permanently so we direct wired. When we go to move it will be a snap not an ordeal. Excellent product!

Very good integration with the google home app. Took 30 minutes to remove old unit, install and download software. Very easy if you're already familiar with Google Home ecosystem. I also got it on sale for $160.

They just work

My only complaint is that the google nest aware premium subscription is pretty pricy and necessary if you want to get full use of the camera’s features.

Great floodlight camera but not so water proof!

The only problem is that although the floodlight has a weather rating of IP 67, the camera itself is only rated IP 54 which makes it water resistant but not water proof. If you placing it somewhere where there is no protection and camera is exposed to rain, think twice. I had to return mine for this issue. If you have a space under a porch or cover, this is a great flood light camera, go for it.
