I'm adjusting the settings frequently. Would like the lights to stop turning on for every car that passes by. I think I found that setting. I'm pretty happy with what it is capturing over all. The range is much farther than estimated. It's a workhorse!

We have dogs that go outside when it's dark and as soon as they go out the flood light comes on and will stay on as long as they are outside

I love being able to setup a camera and lights without having to run additional wiring. The Google Home app leaves a lot to be desired in terms of settings. I'm unable to setup a physical wifi switch and sync to the camera which is a major issue. To turn on and off the light I have to open up the Google Home app and turn it on and off. I hope they can apply an update in the future.

We do apologize for any unlikely experience you're having with the Google Home app and with any difficulty that you might be having with the Wi-Fi connectivity. We recommend the following troubleshooting steps to see if it might be able to help you:
- Check for possible congestion in your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices can help free up some bandwidth space. You may then check to see if you will still experience the same connectivity issue.
- You may also check for possible sources of interference such as the thick walls and appliances in your home.

Posted .Hello MarcusD, thanks for giving us time to share your feedback about the Nest Cam with Floodlight, and we’re sorry to hear it runs out of battery quickly.
The camera shouldn’t run off the battery when installed with the floodlight. Before checking the wires, turn the breaker off from the mains to protect you and your equipment. Then check if the camera is mounted with the power cable correctly. Make sure that the magnetic connector is fully inserted and pointing in the right direction (you’ll feel it snap into place). Turn the power back on to see if the battery still runs out.
