      Hello MarcusD, thanks for giving us time to share your feedback about the Nest Cam with Floodlight, and we’re sorry to hear it runs out of battery quickly.

      The camera shouldn’t run off the battery when installed with the floodlight. Before checking the wires, turn the breaker off from the mains to protect you and your equipment. Then check if the camera is mounted with the power cable correctly. Make sure that the magnetic connector is fully inserted and pointing in the right direction (you’ll feel it snap into place). Turn the power back on to see if the battery still runs out.
