I switched from Eufy because i knew I was missing events that should have triggered a recording. I like that it can detect people, animals, vehicles. The only complaint with it is you cant delete individual recordings. You can only delete everything. I have google hubs and enabled speakers. I love that you can get notified on all devices.

The camera is very sharp and integrated seamlessly with Google Home and the Google Displays. The existing chimes do not work but it may be because the transformer is undersized.

Posted .Hey there, RWP216. We’re glad that you find the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) great. It’s unfortunate to hear of your experience with using the device along with your existing chimes. A traditional doorbell system uses very little power, but Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) has specific power requirements so the camera can continuously record video, so make sure that the transformer (power supply) meets the specific power requirements. It needs to be connected by wires delivering 16 - 24 V AC, and at least 10 VA (in North America) or 12 - 24 V AC and at least 8 VA (in Europe).

Was worried about it working off of battery only but haven't had any issues with it. We have it on a second home and were concerned that it would need to be charged while we were not there. When we are there, we throw it on the charger for a little while and all is well with the world.

I owned one at my previous house and when we moved, I got another. My only complaint with this newer model is that it does not always automatically switch to night vision mode at dusk. Not a huge issue, but kind of annoying at times.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience with the Night Vision is less than ideal. Bright lights can delay or prevent the camera from switching to Night Vision. We suggest installing the wedge to angle your doorbell away from bright lights, or to install the doorbell in a shady spot. You should also make sure that any nearby surfaces or objects (like a wall) are out of view, since the doorbell’s infrared light can reflect off a surface.

Amazing upgrade

A significant upgrade from the super cheap "smart doorbell" my new construction home came with. Integrates very well with the google home app. Does disconnect sometimes but that seems like a software issue.

Superior Camera for day and night.

Picture during day and night are crystal clear. The sound quality is superb, just turn it on to hear the wild life sounds outside. Yes would buy again Great camera.

Only able to view and save videos from the app and only if subscribed to the ever-increasing fees. Maybe this will improve down the road.

It has to be precise to where you it exactly. If you take the time to zero in the specific area, it is great!

Great upgrade on the original!

Still has the satisfying click when pressing the bell button compared to competitors doorbell camera’s. Great features and fixed the larger glass lens that tends to peal over time.

Stick with the Gen 1

This doorbell constantly disconnects from Wi-Fi. At least 3 times a day for me. Have even installed a Wi-Fi extender to no avail. Also forces you to use google home app, which is overly complicated. Would not recommend at all. stick with Gen 1
