Otherwise the chime will NOT work. I purchased a transformer and it took about 15 minutes to install, afterwards, the chime worked.

A constantly cuts off and says that it doesn't have power. It also claims that it doesn't have access to Wi-Fi. The problem is, I have other outdoor cameras and devices hooked up to Wi-Fi that have no problem. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I know that my internet originally was really terrible. But I recently changed over internet service providers to one that is much better and much faster and have had no issues with any of my other devices. This one still constantly disconnects and has problems capturing video. I plan on returning this as soon as humanly possible and replacing it with something more competent. Google has really dropped the ball on all of their devices with their inability to maintain their devices and terrible customer service.

1. Check the wire voltage: An upgraded power transformer may be needed if voltage and power requirements are not met.
2. Check your Wi-Fi network or router settings: Incompatible Wi-Fi settings can cause your camera or doorbell to disconnect or appear Offline in the app.
3. Check the app version: Make sure you have the latest version of the Google Home app to get the latest features and bug fixes.

It also determines animals vs people. Great item to have. The talk back feature seems to not work so much but maybe its my internet since im in a bery rural area.

- For Android devices: Go to the phone’s Settings > Apps > Google Home or Nest Permissions, and make sure the Microphone is enabled.
- For iOS devices: Go to the device’s Settings > Google Home > Permission, and make sure the Microphone is enabled.
- Test if the device’s microphone is working.
- Open the default voice recorder app or any other app that uses your device’s microphone and test the device’s microphone on the app.
- Check if the device is connected to a Bluetooth device that may be serving as the microphone.

Installation process was moderately easy. Instructions in the box was a link to a video of instructions. Overall its a good product to upgrade your home to “smart”

We've taken note of your feedback and we'll certainly take this into consideration when working on new features with our products and services. Meanwhile, you might want to try using the wedge for a better camera view. You can install the wedge then position the baseplate plate over the wedge with the G positioned upright and use the wedge screws to secure it in place. Then attach the doorbell to the baseplate, align the circle at the bottom of the doorbell to the hole at the bottom of the baseplate, and push the doorbell in then down until you feel it click into place. Facial recognition compatible with the Google home system makes everything easy. Video quality for doorbell is great as well as the night vision.

Killed my doorbell so I had to buy a new one. It hasn't been the same since. Told me it was bc my doorbell was old, it worked perfectly before he installed it, but now not at all.

Being able to name the faces is really nice and when they ring the doorbell it tells you who is there.

It takes a little while to get your ‘zones’ set up in the app so you don’t get an alert for every car that drives down your road. I love being able to talk with people at the door when we’re not home.

Does a good job. Battery lasts several weeks easily as long as you are only checking it for people and not every movement detected.
