The new version has a better design and installation process than the previous one, but it's inconvenient because it doesn't connect to the app.

Switching over was super easy as all the mounting parts and wires are exactly the same. The picture quality and angle are much improved. It's a lot easier to make out more details in faces and objects all around. The face-matching feature works a bit better probably because of this. Sound is high quality and similar to the last generation. I haven't noticed much of a difference with gemini being integrated, but I imagine I will with more time.

I use Alexa for routines and google cameras can't be used as a motion trigger. The option is there, but it won't work. I guess this is more of an Alexa failure though. Pretty good and stylish doorbell.

Lasted almost 10 years of continuous use so opted to get a newer model. Upgraded resolution is nice. Installation was easy, just wish they didn't make you look everything up online to install.

The AI is a nice touch, but it's not always right yet. If you have the previous version, I would stick to it since other than the video quality, I don't see a reason to upgrade it.

Installation was not as simple as I thought, but all worked out in the end. The older manual ringer that was attached to my old doorbell doesn't seem to work. That may be the result of my own wiring errors. Google support helped, but they are sometimes hard to get through to. Once you do get through, they were helpful.
