This thermostatwas a replacement for my old honeywell mercury dial-type thermostat. It was very easy to install, and I didn't need the extra baseplate since it is roughly the same size. It was also very easy to set up and connect to my android smartphone. It is very intuitive. I originally intended to purchase the Nest E but it wasn't compatible with my system. I wasn't happy I needed to spend the extra money on this unit, but I'm glad I did...this thermostat looks great on the wall.

I liked the way that it works, except for one thing. It was not compatible with my particular central air system. Nest says that their product works with 95% of all systems. Mine wasn't one of them. It seems pretty intuitive to use. Choose a program, turn the dial, and then tap to enter. My unit stayed on at 72 all the time. While I tried to adjust the Nest temperature up and down, my system did not respond to my requests. Regretfully, I had to return my Nest. I would recommend it, BUT anyone considering buying should check for compatibility with their a/c unit (Label).

excellent thermostat, the ability to learn your schedule & adjust itself to your habits is a plus, the connectivity with the smartphone app makes it extremely useful knowing how many hours a day your AC is running, the air filter change reminder & the ability to remotely fully control your Ac system makes this a must have, plus installation is simple & straight forward using the nest app on your smartphone.

Replaced 20-year old thermostat that was installed when house was built. Very easy self-installed. Neat, clean look on the wall. Functions as advertised and is nice to be able to adjust the temperature remote, when needed. We will be buying a second one to switch out our other thermostat.

Easy to install (assuming you have cell service as you have to turn power off you can't find a fuse linked to the thermostat directly) both in terms of physical install and programming. It has been great so far. I found it easy to get a rebate with my local utility as well ($45!). I do wish the integration between Nest and Google Home was a bit better.

The 3rd gen Nest Learning Thermostat is awesome. I setup a simple schedule of when I leave for work and go to sleep. After a week of adjusting the temperature when I got home from work, the nest began automatically doing that for me. It has functioned exactly as expected since installation. Highly recommend to anyone that does not have a smart thermostat.

This is a great addition to any home. Definitely make sure your HVAC system will support it. However, the install was a piece of cake. It took about thirty minutes as it says, more if your decide to paint or spackle any holes in the wall, but overall very easy to do. I'd recommend a second pair of hands especially when screwing the unit to the wall, keeps things easier. Unit is easy to use and works great when you can get Google or Alexa to handle it for you.

I had the 2nd gen before this. I swapped out the 2nd gen and put in the 3rd. I like the 3rd better because of the two main differences. 1) the screen is larger and higher resolution and 2) the motion sensor is now far field. The larger screen is nice so you can see information from further across the room. It's not a deal break and wouldn't be worth replacing a second gen on that alone. The far field sensor means the Nest can tell if you are around when you are further away or off to the side better than the old one. If you are further away, it will see you, activate the screen (which you can now see from further away) and know not to go into auto-away more (now called Eco). It is also slightly lower profile, and it looks great on my wall. It comes with a plate to cover more of the wall space if you are replacing an older thermostat and don't want old mounting holes and whatnot visible. As with any Nest, it makes it easy to control your temperature from anywhere in the world with your smartphone and with automated programming, it will save you money. Some utility companies will reimburse some of cost of buying this. Mine didn't but that didn't affect my choice to get this. I don't have the Protect or cameras they offer, but I do have an Echo, a Wink hub and Harmony Home Hub, all of which integrate with Nest. So it's all interconnected and easy to control from any of those platforms. Next is not HomeKit enabled yet (meaning you can't ask Siri on iOS to control it). So some people I know have replaced their Nest with another brand that is HomeKit enabled. I have an iPhone and iPad and use the iOS app to control it all the time, so it's perfectly usable for Apple folk, its just not embedded with the specific HomeKit platform. Not a huge deal really. If you have a Nest gen 1 or other non-smart thermostat, get this. If you have a Nest Gen 2, wait for a more significant upgrade. Unless you need it to be HomeKit, its the best out there.

Really like my Nest gen 3 thermostat. Installation was fairly straight forward. Make sure you use the online wiring guide. It creates a custom picture to follow based on the wires you currently use. Having the ability to control the temperature from the upstairs bedroom is really convenient. I know a lot of wifi thermostats can do that, but the additional features of the Nest make it stand out. I especially like the balance choices for using the heat pump vs aux heat.

This product is awesome. Don't even need to get up to set. Love that I can set temperature before I get home. Works great.

The product is the most convenient purchase I’ve made this year. It’s extremely easy and hassle free, to install. The smart features are pretty dope. And again, being able to control your thermostat from your phone is just so convenient.

Easy to install. It works perfectly in the two spaces I have. You can control it on the device itself or via the app.

I purchased this item with reservations as I heard it was difficult to set up. I found it very simple to install all I had to do is add a (c) wire. this was simplified by having an unused wire at the stat. The nest thermostat works great! I definitely would recommend this product. P.S. the associate that helped me locate the last one in stock was very helpful.

Works great with the wifi. Follow the instructions for the installation. Take a picture of the wiring before you disconnect the old thermostat just in case you need to hook it up again.

This is my 3rd nest and I couldn’t be more pleased with it. The install take 15-30 minutes depending g on your comfort but really easy to get up and running. I have Alexa voice control in my house which fully integrates and app control is also very easy. The design is unbeatable and very elegant. I would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in smart tech.

Awesome thermostat, all the information you need at you fingertips and a very good learning thermostat. Unfortunately it was not compadible with my system as it did not have a dedicated C-wire (power). If I had only one zone it may have worked but I have 3 zones so putting 3 thermostats started overloading my system due to the power requirements needed to charge. It's a disappointment because I loved this thermostat! It was easy to setup - took literally 10 mins.

I had the 1st generation, which had no problem for as long as I had (until we moved, about 10 yrs). And I recently have purchased the 3rd generation thermostat for my new home. As I expected, very pleased with the impeccable design and performance. Very easy to install and configure. compatible google home. This is the 2nd thermostat for my dual climate system.

Great product!!! This thermostat is very easy to install and use. Love the fact that you can control your home temperature at all times, even if your are not home, just using the app on your phone. Extra points for letting you schedule different temperatures for different times during the day and it learns your preferences. It also works with Alexa!!
