Newer Isn't Always Better

Could not get it to work with my home. AC would work but heat would not. Spent nearly 2 hours on the phone with Google support troubleshooting with no success. Install was simple, and it looked great on the wall. Ability to adjust it remotely via phone was nice too, but without it being able to do its core function it was of no use. Reverted back to the old school thermostat and was back to working order.

I dinged it a star because it does not allow you to set a desired dehumidification point. While it does display humidity, you have to manually run the system to ensure a certain humidity is maintained.

The product is relatively easy to use once acclimated. The AP is very easy to use and allows full control. Have to see if it really ends up saving $!

I believe they are the best on the market. The Nest App is great as it is highly-intuitive. I'm glad that Google hasn't completely transitioned to the Google Home app. You can generally get rebates from your power company for the purchase as well as programs that regulate peak power days.

I can turn the A/C or heat on while on my way home to make sure the house in comfortable when I get there.

Being able to log in to the thermostat is awesome and installation was simple and easy

Posted .Hi there KIKI, thanks for letting us know about the issue you are having with the Nest Learning Thermostat and your heating system. A code E74 indicates a no power problem from the power wire (Rh) of your heating system.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try out to see if it might be helpful with the issue:
- Ensure that your heating system is fully compatible with the Nest Learning Thermostat by using the Compatibility Checker tool here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9246656
- Make sure the power to your system is on. The power switch will usually be in your breaker box or fuse box, but in some homes it will look like a light switch near the heating or cooling equipment.
- Check that the wires from your heating system are inserted correctly in the thermostat.
- If you’ve completed all the troubleshooting steps above and your thermostat still isn’t working correctly, we recommend contacting a Nest certified Pro technician for more help.
