Don't know why it is called "smart". The only smart thing is the price charged. Like most thermostats it can connect to wifi and other smart assistants like Alexa. One annoying feature is that it lights up every time you walk by it ..to the temp. It would be better if it could light up to time/date. Perhaps it can but seems like a lot of work to figure out how to make this happen. It comes with a white back plate that is not appealing to the eye and is not shown in most pictures.
