It's been about a month since I installed the thermostat. Installation was a breeze and after about a week the motion sensor in the thermostat learned my family's habitation patterns. The furnace was running 6 hours a day every day. Now during the week it only runs about 2 hours per day. House is just as comfortable as before. Can wait to see the gas bill :-)

I want sure about buying a programable thermostat. I already had one. it was complicated to operate. the nest was so easy to install. even easier to operate. I use my phone to set up my schedule. I've only had it for a few weeks, but I'm very satisfied. I highly recommend this.

This is my 2nd Nest 3rd Gen Smart Thermostat. 1st was installed 6 mos ago for our upstairs HVAC zone. I like it well enough to get another for our downstairs HVAC zone. Best lesson learned from 1st Nest: Don't let anyone install a Nest thermo without having a hot (power) wire connected to the Nest otherwise when the Nest's backup battery runs out the Nest will die disabling the HVAC. I had to have an licensed electrician diagnose the problem & run a hot wire to the Nest because the Nest installer did NOT know about the necessity of the hot wire because the Nest worked great once installed...for 30 days, then while we were away from home during winter weather everything shutdown. ! I knew the system was out as monitoring it online indicated so. At anytime, I can check on the Nest using the Nest App. I can also ask Alexa for very limited information like, "what's the temperature in the upstairs mid bedroom?" The App provides much more extensive details and options, i.e. adjusting the temperature. Upstairs is empty-nested, so there's usually no one there to use it, so I haven't had any experience yet with using it's "smart" capabilities. The new one will be smart enabled so it can learn our habits via experience and make adjustment without having to make on-the-spot personal adjustments. I am anxious to see how that works out! Most significant downside: Alexa is not yet sophisticated enough to do all she's asked to do regarding the Nest thermostat...might have to wait for the development of a "Smart Alexa" to be capable of working with a "Smart Nest" thermostat! Regarding the Nest Sensors. I love having the option of determining which of the upstairs rooms need to be comfortable for occupants. The sensors can allow that. Smart suggestion: Check online with your area's gas/electric service provider for rebates for installing Smart Thermostats. I got a $125.00 rebate for my 1st and have application for $100.00 rebate for my 2nd.

Had the original Honeywell Lyric, upgraded my router to a new more powerful set, and to learn that this original Lyric wasn't compatible. Thusly set out to purchase a new smart thermostat. I was aware of the Nest since the onset and heard that it was overpriced for the minimal interface and features, but it certainly has grown since then and this new iteration seems to have outpaced industrial giant Honeywell, which has led me to my new Nest. Easy install, easy setup, and when I do what to see my consumption it has a very intuitive GUI, and reports feature.

The Nest is really easy to install if you're using a single heat / cool source like a heat pump. If you're using a dual-fuel system such as a furnace in combination with a heat pump it takes a little bit more effort to figure out the wiring but you can find the directions on Youtube.

Even though my hubby balked at the idea of buying this thermostat, I bought it when it went on sale. It was the best purchase I ever made. We can control the heat or air anywhere . . . from the comfort of our bed, recliners, or when we're away from the house. It saves me money on electricity and I wouldn't live without it!

This is the second thermostat to add to my home. The first was easy to install, set up and use. This second one was a bit more challenging setting up. Had challenges finding the internet. Four months into use the item totally lost internet connection. It still worked but there was no online controls. Called customer service and spent a good amount of time troubleshooting. It was finally determined it had was faulty. Replacement is on the way.

My last nest gen 1 went bad after 8 years was sending crazy info to my unit. Love the Neat and its functions Hope I get atleast another 8 years out of this one works with my best protect and google home

Working well so far, replaced an older model nest that suddenly stopped working. I also purchased the replacement plan which wasn't offered when I purchased the other one. Definitely an added bonus that best buy offers warranty options for items like this.

Home automation at the click of an app? I'm all in! Now I can leave the house, set my temperature for when im back and save a little money while my air conditioner isn't running! Why leave it going if no ones home? Winter may be coming but that thong bring summer on arrival!

The nest was easy to install, looks good and we have noticed a difference in our bill now that we’re a few months into using it. Love being able to control the temperature in our home from our phones.

This thermostat is a great item. It is very easy to use and the app that you download makes it simple to control from your smartphone device. Remember when you purchase this thermostat you must already have low voltage in your home or else you will not be able to install it. Conversion from high to low voltage is very pricey, just a heads up.
