I've been using the Nest Smart Thermostat for several months now, and I have to say, it's a game changer for home comfort and energy efficiency. The Nest Thermostat is a smart thermostat that learns your preferred temperatures and schedule, and it can adjust your home's heating and cooling accordingly. One of the best things about the Nest Thermostat is that it's very easy to use. This is actually the second Nest we've purchased. The first one was held captive at the house we sold and the owner wouldn't relinquish it back to it's rightful owners! We purchased the second nest after I got an electric bill for almost $300 for a 1400 sq ft house. Installed the next day and our bills have been no more than $150 a month for an outdated AC/HVAC system even in the height of summer. The Nest installed easily - my husband was able to do it with minimal electrical knowledge. It's amazing how it learns the patterns of the household. It's really neat that you can use the app to change the temperature from anywhere. If I know it's going to keep it warm during the day and it happens to be a super hot day, I'll turn the air down earlier than the programming to adjust for the extra time it will take so it's nice and cool when I get home. I have no complaints. This thing does the thinking for us. Also, if you are watching Netflix and are too lazy to get up and turn the heat on when it's cold, you can do it from your phone and keep being lazy. It's a win/win! Don't balk at the price, you'll get it once you've had it a couple months...

It really works very well and is not at all technically challenging. Quite easy to use. We installed our own with help from their tech support that sent a personalized wiring instruction but could have guessed it - it's that easy. (Instructions for getting the wiring instruction were in the box.) Not sure yet if it will lower costs but it appears to have so far. Best of all, we can turn the thermostat down if we leave town, from our phone.

My electric bill in my 1 bedroom apartment has reached over $100 and I don't even run my AC too much. So I've had my eye on the Nest ever since the came out. It was time for me to invest so I could save. It's easy to install and set up. I love it. I know when I'm saving energy because the little green leaf shows up. It's got some pretty interesting features and you can tell it was designed by smart engineers. Leaving the fan running after the AC has turned off to get all the cool air from the coils to get the best use of your AC is just so awesome. I had bad habits when starting to use the Nest when I first got it. But as I try and adjust how I cool my apartment the Nest takes time to adjust to what I want. It's got a cool away feature that puts your nest into energy save mode. If you have pets at home you may not want this is your place gets hot easily, you might come home to a heat exhausted pup.... then again you can set the settings to what max temp you want it set at. They suggest 85 degrees when leaving the house. But you can set on your phone when it knows you're coming home to have your place cooled to your desired temperature when you come home so you don't have to wait for it to cool down when you're trying to get settled in when you're home. I hope next month my bill will be lower. They have a new fan that's called the Haiku that I received notice of through an email. That's my next option. The fan works with the Nest to give you maximum comfort and save the most energy. The fan looks pretty awesome too.

Easy to install. Love that I can control thermostat from my cell phone. I can control the temperature when I am away from home or just sitting on the couch. It looks stylish on the wall.

Great product. Easy to install. Wiring was simple as could be. Directions were very clear. It's great when you're not home and can adjust the Nest from your phone. It has a furnace filter reminder along with a monthly energy saving report. And to make it even more attractive to purchase, it was on sale at Best Buy, and our local energy company gave us a 100.00 rebate. How can you lose with savings like that!!!

Features and app are great and user friendly. Features allow you to be as selective as you want to be in terms of temperature control. Everything is mostly automatic so you really don't have to do anything, and installation is easy with plenty of step by step tutorials. The streamlined and minimalist design is sleek and efficient. The price can be high but rebates help mitigate some of that

Install was very easy. Thought I would need to use the common wire, but turned out I didn’t need to at all. Just charged the unit until it was fully charged and hooked it up. Setup was simple and easy and being able to control the unit with Alexa or with the nest app is wonderful. My parents love it.

Great product. Every angle designed expertly. Install and wiring - easy. Connection to WiFi - easy. Programming - easy. If you need even easier, just turn it up and down manually for a week or two and it will keep the pattern you set. You can then go edit the pattern in the calendar function for exceptions like when guests stay over or you have a party.

I have not seen a heating bill yet but I think we will see a savings. What we like is after the first week it learned our routine and automatically adjusts the temperature before we get home, at night and away for the day. What is even better is both my wife and I have it on our phones (Apple & Android) and we adjust it if our routine changes like turning it on before we get home early or tell it when we are away. We have to travel over the weekends for kids sports and it is no longer a worry when we are driving down the road to see if someone remembered to turn down the heat. My wife is not a techie (I am) but she loves the Nest for the simple usage on her phone. Another trick I learned is when I feel a little cold in the house and the heater is not running, I figure it is just a cold spot so from my computer or phone, I run the fan for 15 minutes and it circulates the air allowing the temperature to equalize (especially in the hallway where our thermostat is) and the heater to go on if needed. The last thing I want to mention is customer service. The wiring was not correct and they stay on the phone with you until it is correct. Follow the instructions to take a picture before you disconnect the old one. When our heater broke (circuit board) they never once blamed the heater, they kept working with us to diagnose the issue even putting on an advanced technician until he could absolutely say it was not the thermostat. The only issue was it took about 3 hours between hold times and getting the advanced tech to diagnose.

Nest products are so easy to install, set up, and use that I almost forget they’re there. I only have a heater (most homes in my area don’t have A/C), but I would recommend this for anyone looking to automate. I like the Nest over its competitors because of the way it looks too, but the automations and remote control-ability is awesome and worth every penny.

Love the nest thermostat! Wifi is awesome. You can change your temp when your away from home. You get monthly power usage and other info. You can really fine tune the temperature settings and you can have your unit learn your patterns so it will automatically adjust throughout the day.

Beatiful product, easy install, they try to sell you professional installation; only need that if you know nothing about electrical. Just YouTube it and follow the instructions. MAKE SURE YOU TAKE A PIC OF OUR PRE-EXISTING PREVIOUS THERMOSTAT or you may be sorry; for the money, nothing like it out there.

I bought this, to replace our old programmable thermostat, and I'm glad I made the change. The programmable thermostat was cumbersome to change the programming, and not very responsive to touches. With the Nest thermostat, the navigation is much easier, and intuitive. I can also pull out my phone, and easily make adjustments, even if I'm not at home. Some of the additional features I like: - It also has the ability to learn your habits, and eventually, it will create it's own schedule (if you allow it, in the settings) - It has a proximity sensor, so the screen goes dark, when you aren't near, but as you approach, it changes the amount of details, displayed - You can set it to display other items, instead of the current temp. For instance, we have it set to show the current temp outside, which also shows the weather predictions, for the rest of the day, as you get closer Installation was just as easy as any other thermostat. If anything, it was a little easier, since it uses spring loaded terminals, rather than wrapping the wires around a screw. My only complaint is that I would like the screen to be touch controlled, rather than dial the outer ring to an option, then 'click' the front face, by pushing it in. Not a big deal though, since I have all the same options, through the app on my phone.

Purchased 3. Easy to install. I have hydro baseboard (doesn't have the option when setting up on face or app so I selected radiators). The instructions says Doesn't support electric baseboard. My 1st one is connected to heat and central ac (jas a common wire) the other 2 are connected to heat only (no common wire). I like the option to control from anywhere. I dont like the google app i prefer the nest app (better interface & more options)

I was never happy with the Honeywell Lyric that was in my house. It was not very user friendly. The Google Nest is a great upgrade. Easy to operate, the app works great, and it is much more appealing. It was so easy to install.

Works perfectly! Very simple installation, setup took just minutes, and overall a very easy DIY project for anyone. The controls through the Home app and personal assistant are awesome and let you manage the thermostat remotely. It was also nice to get the PG&E rebate after installation.
