After researching thermostats on line and finding out there is $100.00 rebate from ComEd for the Nest it made my decision easy. It was easy to install and setup. The mobile app is useful and again easy to use. Based on my last gas bill it looks to me it is saving me money as advertised.

I bought this unit to upgrade from Gen 2 because it can both make use of the sensors and it has dual-band WiFi for a stronger signal. It was very easy to install, it looks great, and it’s very intuitive to use, either on the wall, with your phone, or via a voice assistant. I’ll ding it a little bit because the sensor schedule—that is, when the device can be told to use which sensor—can’t be customized. You have 4 pre-set blocks to choose from, and that’s it. But then the trouble started. First I got a dreaded W5 error, meaning it’s WiFi radio was no longer working. I contacted Google for a replacement, which arrived promptly… but it kept getting caught in a boot loop and I couldn’t set it up. A second replacement arrived and wouldn’t correctly read my (very straightforward!) wiring, despite the fact that the one with the W5 error still could. The third replacement had the same issue, at which point I was advised to spend $130 to have a technician inspect my system to verify it was in fact the thermostat that wasn’t working. So after 6 total hours on the phone with customer support and HVAC technicians, and 3 replacement thermostats, I finally got my fourth one: an ecobee. I had it on and functioning in 20 minutes. My experience is probably very far outside the norm. I most likely just had a run of bad luck; I know when I see reviews like this for something I have maybe already talked myself into, I think, “ah but that’s just one guy; he’s unlucky or he did something wrong; that won’t happen to me.” And it probably won’t! But given the sheer number of issues I encountered—from failing components to annoying limitations to inept and sometimes contradictory customer support (who, at the end of the day, are call-center employees and decidedly *not* HVAC technicians)—I’d urge you to strongly consider other smart thermostats. This one is just not worth the risk or the headaches.

Makes it so easy to just set it and forget it. I don't know how many times I left my heater or air on when I left for work and came home to a house that's been unoccupied for 12 hours racking up the bill. No more! Thanks Nest

It was so easy to set up and install! No screwdrivers required - just stick the wires in as you push down a button. Responds well on my device. It's fun to stand in front of it and use my iphone to control it and watch it change on the wall. It senses the outside temperature (from the internet) and adjusts accordingly. I love the usage summary that tells me how many hours it ran every day. We had our attic re-insulated, and it was awesome to watch the usage go down afterwards on my device. The claim that this will pay for itself is no joke - I have had it for a month, and can see that it will happen. No wonder the gas company is offering a hefty rebate for this!! And that's something that has bothered me about Best Buy - they didn't mention the energy rebate at all. After buying it at Best Buy, I went to Home Depot to look at other cheaper options to replace my thermostat, and that's where I found out about the rebate. Needless to say, I kept it and have been more than happy ever since.

This has turned my apartment into a much better experience all by itself. The main winner for me was being able to measure the humidity in the house. It has made everything much more comfortable and is definitely saving us money. There are a few bugs with the phone application but nothing worth really complaining about.

upgraded our home analog Thermostat with a brand new Nest. and linked it to home wireless. like the big LED digital temperature display. we can view/change temp with our smartphones via Nest cloud. amazing gadget

I have bought these for each of the homes that I have owned and it is absolutely flawless! I love the ability to control away from home and even while lying in bed. It even reduced my utility bills by at least 25%.

I installed two Nest thermostats in the house. Very easy to install, they booted right up to our home wifi and have saved us money each month. We like the app, but wished that the reporting was more robust. All in all, great product.

This was an excellent buy for a reasonable price. Our hone temperature is so manageable and it automatically switches to the temperature we want to set it up on after 1 week of learning our behavior

Installed in about 15 minutes following instructions through nest app. Works just like my old thermostat but with much more control through my phone Ipad or google home mini. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a smart thermostat.

Six weeks in, Nest has met all expectations. Well worth the money.

I received a coupon for 75 dollars off from my gas company so I couldn’t pass on that deal. It works great. Having the ability to turn on the heater or A/C from my work so the house is the perfect temperature when I get home is worth every penny.

Very intuitive thermostat. Easy to install and easy to connect to internet. I love this thermostat. Build quality is fantastic and I love that you can choose metal that fits the house.

It is so convenient to have specially if you travel a lot. We are able to control the temperature from our phones so when we are away we turn it down. You can also lock the device so that children cannot adjust the temperature without permission!

I had a hard time trying to decide on which smart thermostat I wanted to go with. After having this product for almost 6 months I can definitely say I'm happy with my decision. My electric bill has gone down significantly and this product is extremely easy to use and set up.
