I like that I can lock it with a pin so kids so crank it up. But I dislike that when I have it off. The enegysaving mode turns it on to the settings it remember that I like. Something its warmer by front door due to being close to kitchen but the rest of house is cold so it randomly turns on.

Thanks for sharing your review with us. We can see how your experience with the thermostat's Auto-Schedule feature was difficult for you. What you can do is to turn off Auto-Schedule then you can manually edit the existing schedule, or create an entirely new one. This way it will only follow the schedule you want and you can manually control when it turns off or turns on.
To turn off Auto-Schedule on your thermostat:
- Choose Settings
- and then Nest Sense
- and then Auto-Schedule
- and then Off.

Great rebate from ComEd 100$, so it really costs only 99$ to get Nest...i think that is a great unbeatable deal...iphone app makes it easy to track your energy savings, and also controls the Nest remotly.

One thing which I learnt is that if you set it on ECO setting it maintains the temp in that range and doesn’t override that control. I like it’s ability to make a determination when to start heating and cooling down at the end of the day.

It only took a limited amount of time to understand its basic operation. I love the fact that I can control it from anywhere and the rebates truly make this a "best buy" !

I have gas heat and AC air and I had a short with my AC and my AC kept coming on when my heat came on. I ended up calling a AC repairman to find the fault. Once the fault was found no issues with system. It is running smoothly now.
