After having this device for about 7 months I can safely say that this device is not what it’s all cracked up to be. Aesthetically it looks really nice on my wall, gives it a pretty modern look. Also being able to control the climate via phone is pretty handy but other than that it’s not very useful. First it’s auto scheduling is very unpredictable and impractical. As a person that already keeps the thermostat at 78 degrees there doesn’t seem to be anything this thing can do to save energy while also keeping the house at a comfortable temperature. It will try to put the house a 83 degrees sometimes and you have to switch it back up. The auto scheduling will eventually switch it back down and it’s a constant fight with this device, which ends up using more power to cool the house 6 degrees. If you try to set up your own schedule like turning down the AC during peak hours, it will make its own with worse temperatures at random times. At the end I have not seen a change in my electric bill compared to last years kWh usage after 7 months with me allowing it to auto schedule. Despite the uncomfortable temperatures it set my house too. I ended up turning it off, which defeats the purpose then it just becomes a regular $30 thermostat for $250. Luckily my local electric company has a rebate program that gives you a $85 credit to your bill which brings down the price but not enough to justify the cost compared to my old thermostat. Your better off just keeping your thermostat at 78 and just leaving it there because it’s more energy efficient to keep a house cool that to cool it down from a high temperature.

I finally jumped into the Nest thermostat world and wow, is it cool. I like how it wakes when you walk by with the weather and current temp outside. It was also super easy to install, but you do need to make sure you have the right power connection. That took some working since mine did not but ended up being fairly straightforward since we had an extra wire. Double check though to be sure.

The thermostat is easy to install, they have thought of everything so it just about sets itself up! Works flawlessly, love it!

Works very well, I like that it pops on when you walk by it, a lot of different settings to display, easy to use. Customer support was extremely helpful and emailed a custom diagram for my system to set it up. I like the setting to have both low temp and high temp so cold or heat kicks on when needed. Also nice using the remote app.

These are great! Being able to setup a schedule for your heat and cool. Monitor it and change it on the fly is amazing. You have to makes sure your home is wired up correctly for the thermostats. I would highly recommend these.

I love my nest thermostat. It learns based on how you set the temperature throughout the day. So if you set it at 76 for the night and 78 for the day it will start learning these settings and do it for you automatically. It will also know when you leave home based on cell phone location or if it doesn't detect anyone. The thermostat tells you exactly how long your AC has ran for with a historical schedule. This in itself it an amazing feature so you know which unit if you have two or more is running inefficiently by comparing numbers.

The best device for your home, works great easy to set up

Got it because it was on sale and I was also getting state rebate. But as it turned out, Nest is actually GREAT. Sets the temperature based on what you schedule. Auto sets temperature when you are away. Auto away works for me and my wife both so it doesn't got to eco temperature when one goes away. Integrates well with my phillips hue and LIFX lights. Turns them on and off automatically when I come or leave the house. I do not have a big house so I cannot comment on energy savings but with what it does, it definitely saying me some $$.

Love the next, had it at our older home (2 units) for about 8 years and have purchased again at our new home (2 units). We did have a bit a trouble with wiring at the new home and had to have a tech come out and run a new wire for it but works great since then. I will say the nest customer service when we had issues was disappointing.

I bought the refurbished one. It worked for a while but wouldn’t charge. Found out, you definitely need to connect the C wire for constant power. Got another one under warranty and bought a c wire transmitter that plugs into the wall. No issues since. ALSO another important fact. Buy room sensors!!! It will save you a headache with temperature control. Love the WiFi control feature though the google app.

This is my first use of a smart home product. I investigated many of the options and went with the Nest because of how easy it is to use and install. I have not been disappointed. After about a week, I have noticed that when I go to adjust the temperature, it has already been adjusted for me. Simply amazing. One of the greatest features is its ability to have multiple scheduling options throughout the day - I don't believe any other smart thermostat currently has that option. It's also really cool to be able to control the temperature from my iPhone or iPad.

Nicely designed thermostat, also very easy to use via Nest app. Interface is intuitive and allows assigning permission for multiple users to access.

This is an awesome product VERY easy to install even the newest person can install. The flush mounted wall plate makes it look amazing against any wall.

I'll start the review with GREAT CUSTOMER Service from Google. My system had 7 wires and after 30 minutes on chat, they had me a diagram that worked. Hooked it up and it's working great. Love it so far but hard to tell if the savings are due to the thermostat or the cooler weather. Little bit of a learning curve but love the app and being able to put our heat pump on a schedule.
