Had an issue with my original, the software was freezing, which made it not functional at all contacted and they were able to send me a new one because of the warranty overall, it’s a great product.

It’s incredibly difficult to make a schedule and be able to go back-and-forth turning the schedule on and off (I have my kids every other week and sometimes I work from home and sometimes I don’t so I need a variety of schedules and things happening). I find it also difficult to control through Google to tell it what I want it to do.

I don’t love the way it integrates with Vivint, so I use the Nest app instead. My favorite feature is the Energy History, I’m currently playing a secret game in my household to reduce the number of hours the AC runs. If no one is complaining about being hot, the temp goes up a degree every day—I’m going to win the electric bill game with the Nest!

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If you're in the market for a Nest thermostat, you're more than likely shopping between the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat. The huge selling point for the Learning thermostat is that it has a feature called 'Auto-Schedule'. This feature learns your daily temperature input settings and builds a recurring temp schedule off of that. A fundamental problem I have with this functionality is that your needs and outside temps change on a daily basis, while your Learning schedule remains static. I still find myself manually changing the thermostat temp everyday because of this. With that, in my opinion, I deem the price increase of $120 from its entry level model not worth it unless you want the premium finish and upgraded screen.

Posted .Hi there, MattyMcFry. Thanks for the feedback you shared about the Nest Learning Thermostat. It’s unfortunate to hear that your experience with the Auto-Schedule feature is less than ideal. You have an option to use it as a traditional programmable thermostat, and you can manually set the temperature and create your schedules for the thermostat to follow. You can turn off the Auto Schedule feature, disable the Home/Assist, and clear the existing schedules by selecting Settings > Reset > Schedule > Reset again.
