Had a 2nd gen but wanted to love that upstairs so we bought the 3rd gen for downstairs. We wanted to be able to use the temp sensor but it was only compatible with the 3rd gen. The base was different from the 2nd gen so it was a total removal and install. All the wires went in the same locations so it was a breeze of an install. WiFi connected with no issues and the new nest picked up right where the old one stopped. The old nest installed upstairs with no issues so now our entire house has smart thermostats. Went with this over the also well reviewed eco bee because I enjoy not having to think about the thermostat. Me and my wife work different schedules with days off so it’s hard to actually have a set in stone thermo calendar.

This was my 5th Nest Pro installation, all were slightly different but simple to correctly install. Extremely efficient. It learns quickly and requires minimal maintenance (if any at all). Other than an occasional "off-line" due to FL summer storms' power outages, I definitely recommend. I'm scheduled to install 4 more at friends and families residents soon. If you're fortunate to catch the "Nest Pro" on sale for less than $200 (grab on) although the reg. price will pay for itself over the summer months.

Install was pretty straight forward. Device works great, been using it over a year now. No complaints. The application is easy to use and set a scheduled time.

We had no problem installing it ourself. I love the fact that I can set a schedule, and that it’s smart enough to know when we are away (so it will auto adjust as needed). The best part is that I can control it through the google home app. Makes it nice if you are traveling back from vacation, and as you get closer to home you can set it to your desired temperature before walking in the door.

Love the new updated design, thermostat is simple and easy to use. Favorite part is being able to control the temperature from your phone whether your home or not. Setup is super simple

Very happy with this thermostat so far. I replaced my old thermostat, it’s very easy to install, very elegant. Was able to set up a schedule and keep track of when I replaced the filter. Also it’s very easy to adjust when not at home through the app.

Finally, I installed the unit following the very simple directions included (actually I watched a YouTube video first, highly recommended so as to give you an overview of the entire process). Here's one pro tip, take a photo of the wires and how they are attached to your original thermostat before removing them, it will save you lots of time and help you install the unit right the first time. Other than figuring out how to customize the display, the unit works, heat, cool, fan all respond properly and it probably only took me 1 hour all together (including viewing install videos!-) The app connected to the wifi easily and the basics controls are pretty straightforward. Looking forward to getting to know the unit better when the heat arrives and we have to begin using the A/C. Also, be sure to get your rebate from your participating energy provider, this makes the purchase a no brainer as it should help to save much more in energy costs than its purchase price.

Bought the Nest Thermostat hoping to save some money on our energy bill. Installation was the easiest thing possible, anyone can figure it out (just make sure you have the proper power switch turned off and check the wires for activity) When we first installed it, I actually thought I installed it incorrectly because the data being collected was telling me my AC unit was running for a good 14-15hrs straight daily!!...called my heating and cooling guy to make sure A) I installed it right and B) that my AC unit was functioning properly. when he checked my AC unit it was low on refrigerant. He topped that off and BAM my data (on Eco mode) shows my unit MAYBE runs 45m to an hour a day and even at times no usage at all for days!!!. I LOVE LOVE having a visual aid to my furnace/AC usage!!! Now we will just have to wait and see what the winter will bring... This product was pretty pricey and I even considered getting my money back before installing it because of it's cost. BUT, reading reviews and seeing how this thermostat could save me so much more money in the long run I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did! I would highly recommend this product!!!

I own 2 of these units in my house and have not had any issues with them. Nest is the go to for smart thermostats. It is easy to install and takes little time to configure. The app works great as well as Alexa integration for voice commands. The scheduling couldn’t be easier as well as the features that come with it, like airwaves or filter swap reminders. I would highly recommend. The price is up there but worth the money. Design is simplistic and clean. Would highly recommend.

My old Nest thermostat was faulty so I ordered this as a replacement. It was plug and play and set it up easily with no issues. The app is great and being able to control the temperature from anywhere is a wonderful feature. My AC went out recently so I can keep an eye on it which gives me peace of mind. Highly recommend this item!

We are very happy with our 3rd generation Nest Learning themostat (model T3018US). I was very skeptical about this product due to the fact that our home is very old and does not have a "C" wire that is required for most smart thermostats. Google Nest has a great website that walks you through their products and asks you questions to see which thermostat will work best for your home. This one popped up so we gave it a try, after putting this off for many years, for fear of having to find an electrician to install (which is difficult to get for a small job like this). Once we had the product at home, it took us under an hour to install. It was super easy. Google has mastered their step by step instructions online. As you complete each step, you click next and it brings you along with pictures and well written intructions. We noticed after about a week how efficient this thermostat is. Our home temperature has been more stable and we don't hear the heat going on/off as often as it was. The smartapp is also very easy to use and monitor or modify the temp when you're away. The one minor thing we noticed is it can be hard to tell what the room temperature is when looking at the thermostat. On the app, you need to click into it and you'll see it (see picture showing 67 in the middle which is the "set" temp; 69 on the top, which is the actual room temp). The actual thermostat on the wall appears black until you walk into the room. Then it shows the set temp with the room temp so small you can't read it unless you're up close (see 2nd pic). You can chose other settings for the display, but you will lose the actual temp when you do that. Lastly, when you click into the thermostat, the display only shows the actual room temp. (3rd pic) A little weird but not an issue. Im summary, we love this thermostat and are very happy.

I’ve had it for almost a year now and it’s has worked amazing! The app is super easy to use. It notifies you whenever you need your filter changed and sends you monthly reports for energy used as well as gives you acces to control your thermostat from your phone or tablet. Their customer service is amazing! And it looks so sleek and modern on my wall. This comes with one year warranty so Nest has you covered. Really recommend this thermostat!

I was hesitant at first but now I love it. So easy to use from anywhere. Home & office I can control and manage the thermostat. Plus it was so easy to install.

I purchased this on 30 January 2020 and had installed.Love the design it is programmable to my needs.I lower temp while at work.Turn it up hour before get home nice and warm.It is easy to learn.I watched a few how to videos before so wasn't that bad. The only down side I have .Is the back is white I purchased stainless steel thermostat thinking back plate would match.But it is white plastic. I would highly recommend this product. I had it professionally installed.The back plate issue NOT a Best Buy issue.

Made the jump to NEST. Old unit was malfunctioning, decided to go high tech. Ameren IL offered $125 toward the purchase of this device. That's 50% of the total!! I installed the NEST app on my phone and my wife's phone. It's great! When the T-stat sees our phones are no longer home, the temp is automatically adjusted to an ECO setting as there is no point in heating/cooling an empty home. It works flawlessly. Installation was easy, exactly the same as a normal T-stat. Only 4 wires on mine. I really recommend this to anyone.

The Nest - Learning Thermostat - 3rd Generation is the ideal product for anyone who wants to improve the energy use and lower the electric bill in their home. The Nest Thermostat does a phenomenal job of: A. Cutting AC usage while still cooling/heating home B. Lowers energy usage C. Tracks energy usage and gives reports D. Learns from past usage E. Sets temp while user is away F. Cools/Heats home with 3 options of use (App, auto, and manual) In addition to all this the device is easy to install, learns from its users, and provides easy to understand data via email and app usage. This product can change the way you view AC units. For its price it will pay for itself in just a few months. The only CON is that when you first install it there will be a few hours where it will take time to heat or cool the house. Other than this it is the ideal smart AC unit.

I love the ease of operating this thermostat. I can control our ac and heat with my phone. The installation process was fairly easy thanks to the display on the thermostat to let you know about the connections. I also think it looks nice on our wall.
