Overall good quality product. Make sure your thermostat is in a place that will have traffic, otherwise, you will find like I did that some automation features will not function properly as intended by this type of technology. Usage report could use a little updating, not too informative.

Wasn’t as big an upgrade over my series 1 Nest thermostats but wanted the ability to use the remote sensors. Looking forward to get a sensor to see if that improves

Device is okay. Installation and online videos were easy and useful. The packaging is really nice. It works like it's supposed to, I guess. One morning at breakfast, it felt like it was getting really hot in the kitchen. Checked the thermostat &, for some reason, it decided it should be 77° inside. It was ~70 outside. The auto-away is useless sometimes. Device is installed in hallway & kids are too short to activate sensor, so it thinks no one is home alot of times. Should've gotten the Ecobee thing. Read it's more versatile.

Updated our old thermostat and this helped our house save money on our energy bill. I love how you can set schedules for cooling and heating. As long as you download the app, you can control your home temp even while you’re away from home.

If you are into home automation and want to control your thermostat by voice. This is a must buy item. I was able to connect this to Alexa and Google Home.

The first Nest Smart Thermostat I bought lasted about 4 months and the wi-fi card stopped working. No matter what I did, I could not get it reconnected. I had Best Buy send a technician from Geek squad to check it out and he couldn't get it reconnected to wi-fi either. It wouldn't even look for wi-fi networks. He decided it was the wi-fi card. Since I'm a TotalTech member I had the old one uninstalled and and new Nest installed after almost two weeks of mix ups on the scheduling of the uninstall and install. Best Buy now farms out this work to a second party instead of using the Geek Squad and they couldn't get their act together except for one guy who finally helped me and did both the uninstall and install on the same day so I wouldn't have to go without A/C in 100 degree plus temperatures overnight. Now the new thermostat is acting up. At first everything was fine and I could control it from the thermostat, my Nest app and by voice using Alexa. Now Alexa voice control won't work and I can't get it reconnected and I'm at a lost. I'm afraid to go back to Best Buy because of what happened before so I'm just going without voice control, which I miss at night when I'm in bed.

I love how you can control it from phone iPad or Alexa, they give you a monthly report on energy usage. I do recommend professional installation
