The Nest Learning Thermostat is a great addition to our smart home features. It is so nice to know that I am saving energy and money with this product. And, being able to control the temperature from the app on my phone, wow, am I just getting lazy or what!

It was very easy to install and the interface is very user friendly. I gave it 3 stars because in less than three months the wifi function on the thermostat stopped working and I had to contact Google support at (855) 469-6378. My service rep was friendly and professional. Now let's see how kong it takes for the replacement unit to arrive.

Nice system, but I dont like that the battery is embedded and you can change it out yourself.

First off got this for a freaking steal 66 bucks with tax on clearance at home depot…NEW!….. definitely didnt want to pay full price and I definitely didnt wanna grab the 4th gen since reviews say its a step back and i was gonna go with the lower model but this was the one I really wanted …. 1. Install was easy, i have an older house built in the 50’s and was suprised this would work… just labeled the wires and relplace the old honeywell one that was here when we moved in….. 2. App setup was where things got wonky the device kept restarting itself while trying to connect to app but some how i got it on one of the restarts and it connected.. i love that i can control it in my google home app but requires nest app to set up and to get most out of controls… 3. The device itself it premium feeling and looking and has some weight to it and looks beautiful on my wall, I was originally gonna go with silver but glad i grabbed the last white one they had cause it just looks flawless…. 4. Software on the device itself is easy to use but how to click it took me a munite but that could be user error/air headedness lol……. Overall for the price i paid i love it cant wait till next summer to see if it actually helps me save money on the electric bill….. also the packaging was first class came with a neat little screwdriver and wall plate

Great thermostat it really learns the temperature you put when you leave and goes back to what you had it before you left . Love it i recommend this product!

The instructions were excellent My challenge was the wires in my old thermostat where old and the exposed wire was not long enough and slightly corroded The nest was able to show you what wires where connected And 1-2 were always missing when you look in setup After I cut and test stripped wires worked fine

Bought initially from Home Depot but after shopping around a bit more found a much better price from Best Buy.

Good product but it's not doing the very basic task it's supposed to do which is measuring the temperature right. It reports 3degrees higher temperature, if I press it for 10second making it reboot it shows the right temperature but it won't sustain it.

The thermostat is by far the best I’ve ever used, and it’s very user friendly.

It is a cool and money saver tech gadget. We set it to the temperature we want before we make it home. Our home is nice and warm when we get there. Love the product.

I love it. It has lowered my energy usage with out me having to think about it. I love solid quality product like this. Absolutely amazing.

Not sure that I can add much more than others have written. The thermostat works as described. Installation was very easy, took me about 15 minutes. I remember reading that many people wanted far sight to display the current temperature rather than the set temperature. I recent software update added this functionality. Additionally I have read that some people have had temperature run aways, I have not had an issue at all. I like the design and how easy it is to use. I haven't figured out how much it has saved, but the auto-away and being able to remote in and set the thermostat to away has saved me on cooling this summer on weekend when I am not home for an extended time. Also being able to turn things back on lets the house get back to a comfortable temp by the time I arrive home.

It works fine for a two months but it couldn’t find any wi-fi. I have tried all troubleshooting but the result is negative

Bought in July 2017, gone bad in Dec 2017. Got replacement, again got bad in today (May 2018). Really disappointed. I am glad that I didn't discard my old thermostat as it came handy both times. Other than that functionality is good. Lets see how next replacement works. Error Message on Nest thermostat display: Starts in xx:xx mins During this period of time, A/C or Heat starts and then stops repeatedly.

When the Nest first hit the market I was put off by the price. I was also skeptical if another "internet sensation" would have any longevity. I didn't want to be on the bleeding edge only to be burned if/when the company faltered. But Nest has stood the test of time and remained. So when I had some RZ certs to use I combined that savings with the $100.00 rebate from ComEd to feel a lot better about the price. The Nest has shown to be easy to setup and operate. The instructions were clear, with additional information on their website that is very thorough. They also have installation videos for the more visual learners. They have a network of professional installers available if you really don't want to DIY. But for my situation, I found that the most difficult part of the installation was removing my old thermostat. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, everything is well labeled and the whole job took me about 30 minutes. It's very nice that Nest includes the additional mounting bracket for those rare installations that would require it. But even better was the trim plate since my old thermostat was a bigger, rectangular model that had been painted around. The trim plate covered it up and made it a professional looking job. While I like and appreciate the inclusion of the trim plate, I would like it more if there were other finish options available. But this is a very minor issue. It just plain looks good on the wall. I did have one momentary hiccup on the setup. On the first attempt it could not connect to my WIFI. I know the user/pass was corrected, it just took forever and then gave an error. I tried it a second time and it connected right away and has remained active for months. So if at first it doesn't connect, just wait a minute and try it again. I have the savings features enabled. So it's set to start cooling down about the time I leave work. But if I have to work late and it doesn't detect anyone home, it will stay in the upper setting until I arrive home. Better still, I can always launch the app on my phone and tell Nest to start the cooling before I leave work. I loved this feature so much about my car, now I have it IN MY HOME!!!

Always have issues with this i do not like it. Wi-Fi is always disconnecting and Alexa keeps having to look for it. Now it cant even find it anymore.
