Good thermostat for the price

Best investment that I did for my house. It also learns when you are not home so your air won’t be running all day.

Its software and apps are solid and elegant, too, and it does a really good job of keeping your home at a comfortable temperature with little to no input from you.

Best purchase made.

Quite often we would forget to set the thermostats in our home before leaving. This device is the perfect solution! It also helps us save energy by actively managing the temperature in our homes. Great device!

The Nest looks more sleek and modern as opposed to using the Honeywell thermostat. It’s nice using the phone app to get the ac running.

It is also extremely nice that it will turn down the heat automatically when you leave the house and recognizes to turn it back up when you get back. I would recommend this to anyone.

The house will heat or cool on its own to maintain optimum temperature. This has been especially useful during the springtime when temperatures are pretty erratic. In turn, my bills have decreased.

It claims to be smart and can adjust the temperature in the room, however, I always feel the temperature to be lower than I wanted, although I adjust manually every day, it still sets the temperature low.

We understand your concern about the lower temperature reading, and the first thing we recommend is to start by checking the location of the thermostat, as it may impact the accurate temperature reading. Here are a couple of troubleshooting steps to help isolate the issue further, as well as identifying that the thermostat is not impacted by external factors:
- Restart the thermostat by pressing the display until it shows a black screen and wait until it's back up and running. A restart should be sufficient to re-calibrate them and show an accurate value.
- Check if the Sunblock feature is on or off. Open Nest App > Select the thermostat > Tap Settings > Look for Nest Sense > Turn off/on Sunblock
- Nest Thermostats in the U.S. and Canada are typically installed on a wall. Check for proximity of the thermostat to: air vents / electrical outlets / appliances / plumbing (hot water pipes) / warm air in the wall behind the thermostat. This may also affect the reading for the temperature.
- Some wireless access points cause the Nest Learning Thermostat’s wifi chip to overheat, which affects the thermostat’s detected ambient temperature. We suggest disconnecting the network for 24 hours, and monitoring the temperature.
Different brands of thermostats and thermometers have different ways of measuring and reading the ambient temperature. Normally, a temperature difference of 1-2°F can be negligible, but if it is greater than that, and should the steps we highlighted not identify the issue, then we may need to have a look at what may be causing it and work on improving your experience. And with rebates that you can get from utility companies and savings from more efficient operation, this product is a no-brainer.

It learns well and works even better with the more input that you provide. I don't have any other "connected" devices, but am interested in getting some. I don't know how the Nest can monitor heating and cooling differently based on which room is occupied without having a multi-zone system though.

This allows us to control the different zones and set it while we are enroute to the house to cool or to warm it based on the need. Its great and was very easy to install.

We have it set to detect when we are away so it goes into ECO mode and when we are home it knows what temp to set it too. Easy install.
