I debated on buying this thermostat for the longest Time and I glad to say that it’s Awesome. Being able to control it from my phone is so convenient. It’s easy enough for the kids to control… I Love it. It’s easy to connect and it look very nice.

Excellent and well designed thermostat. Easy to install and set up. I really like to be able to adjust the temperature with out leaving the bed or the couch. I have only been using it for a couple of weeks, so, we'll see how much money it will save us.

The Nest Thermostat is an exceptional product; super easy to install, beautiful on the wall (especially relative to the white plastic stat I had previously) and above all, effective at knowing when my family is home/not home and regulating the temperature(s) accordingly. Would recommend this product to anyone.

I have been very happy with the Nest Thermostat overall. It is my second purchase in the Nest family after my Nest Cam. Installation was very easy and I had no knowledge going in installing thermostats. The design is thin and modern with an intuitive UI. The only problem I have had with Nest is the Auto-Away feature has been wonky ever since I installed the Nest Thermostat as the Cam and Thermostat don't seem to talk to each other very well. For example, when I get home, my AC might start but the Cam does not turn off even though the app recognizes that I am home. Hopefully some of these bugs will get worked out.

We had a previous generation Nest thermostat installed in the house we sold. We liked it so much we decided to put one in our new house. The physical installation was very easy. They have a pre-installation checklist at the Nest website that will tell you whether the Nest is compatible with your HVAC system (you have to know the terminals in your old thermostat that are used). That will save you a purchase/return for incompatibility issues. One difference in the physical installation of the third generation Nest is they include an optional, white plastic cover plate to cover mounting holes left by the replaced thermostat. The setup of the thermostat was also straight forward. The only confusion I had was when I installed the app on my smart phone. The app was asking the same question the thermostat had asked during its setup, so I thought the app was trying to setup the thermostat a second time. So I cancel the app setup questions. Even though the app looked like it was set up, it wasn't. Eventually I went through the app's questions, finding the app was just pairing with the thermostat, not setting it up again. After less than a week of manually setting the temperature we wanted at various times, the Nest learned the pattern and adjusted the temperature automatically. We like the increased functionality of the third generation Nest thermostat. It's well worth the price.

Probably the best looking Smart Thermostat in the market today . easy to install and setup . the whole thing took less than 30 mins to replace the previous thermostat and then install and configure this one . Rebate from Xcel energy was quick . App works very well on tablets , desktop and my Android watch . easy to operate and very bright and easy to read from across the room

I've had the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation for about 5 weeks now. It was a cinch to hookup to my HVAC system and get connected to my home WiFi and creating my Nest account went without a hitch too. It's been working fine for the 5 weeks I've had it and would recommend this to anyone looking to add to their smart home setup.

extremely easy to install and set up. do exactly what i need it to do. but the software is not super easy to set up. and UI is not too clear, normal people will figure it out in 10 mins.

I've had a programmable thermostat for over 10 years and when I got it, the savings were obvious but the family had difficulty operating it, this new NEST thermostat solved that problem and more. It's easy to operate but the ability to manipulate it remotely is the biggest benefit. Easy to install and setup, I can't imagine a better option.

I like the app on my phone, I am out of the country right now for 6 months and I can see how my house sitter is using the ac.. I like the monthly reports. I am looking forward to that lower power bill, I do level pay so I do not check it month to month. I have had no problems. Installation was easy. I had someone do it, but I could have done it myself.

I'm very happy with this purchase. The display is very easy to read it looks great. The thermostat is so easy to operate and install! The wifi functionality is great. It also qualified for a $75 focus on energy rebate. Furnace guy wanted $370 just to install a regular programmable thermostat, so at $175 all in cost after rebate, I feel like it's a good deal.

Smart thermostat that brings a sense of style to an otherwise drab product category. Works as expected and automatically lowers the temperature to a predefined level when no one is at home. No need to remember to turn down the thermostat. Works flawlessly with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Would really like to see Apple HomeKit integration.

I bought five since I have 5 different zones on my furnace. Furnace is about 15 years old and there was no c wire installed. I was worried that these might not work but they work flawlessly. In my case installation was a breeze but the app walks you through everything and makes it super easy. My only complaint is the price. I wish they made a 2 or 3 pack and sold them at a discount but at least I caught them on sale. Takes some getting used to and the learning and changing of the temperature can be a bit annoying while it's getting used to you so you really need to check the schedule on the app frequently or you may end up very hot or very cold which happened to us a couple times. Now I check the schedule weekly and I've only had to make a few adjustments. I like that when you set a time and temperature in the app the unit is smart enough to turn the furnace on early so that at the chosen time it is the chosen temperature.

I have had a few friends that have this product and have been interested in it for quite a while. I finally found a good excuse to buy it. Just because. The install was pretty strait forward. They gave you some face plates to cover older rectangular style plates you may have had. in my case I will use the rectangular plate until I get the time to paint the wall to hide it. I have a separate theater room that does not have a fan. I use the AC fan to keep the room cool. It is nice to just open up the app and change the temp or turn on the fan whenever I want. The fan has a timer function which is great because sometimes I would forget to turn the fan off and it would run all night long. The software is very focused on efficiency and a good amount of thought was put into the functions. Exceeded my expectations.

CONS: Installation instructions are not the most helpful. However, I received help via telephone from a pro and it was easy to install. PROS: Easy to use. Works great. Looks Great. A MUST have.

I had a Nest 1.0, moved and just purchased a new home and couldn't wait to buy a Nest 3.0 for the new place. Quick to install and hook up to my wifi, works like a charm and is easy to use. This newest version has a larger screen and all the same cutting-edge features I loved in my prior Nest.

Love it. Feels well built, installation was a breeze, even with my apartments awful wiring. Everything works and connects as it should.

I had to replace my old Gen 1 Nests due to a surge from lightning. I don’t see any difference betweeen these and my old ones because the the new features aren’t really helpful to me. However, these are reliable, always connected and I can easily change any settings from my phone. I don’t use the learn option. I set a schedule and let the schedule run everything. I think the learn option would be too much to have to think about (constantly changing the temperature). One of the best options is the home/away setting and using our cell phones to alert the system when we are home or away. When our cell phones leave the WiFi network the thermostats know we are away and goes into energy saving and coming back on when one of our phones is back on the wood network. I can’t compare it to other thermostats, but this one has been great, just as the first generation.

I bought this just under 3 months ago and really like this thermostat. Although installing it had several steps, it was very well guided and easy to do. It learns your habits as promised and the online interface is also very easy to use. I did have a problem initially where the Home/Away assist was not properly using my phone GPS data to tell that I was away from home, but customer support was really easy to get to and they were very friendly and helpful. I only called them once and it didn't resolve my issue, but then magically the problem resolved itself (learning?). So, ever since, I've been super happy with the product. It's been properly adjusting my temps and saving me a ton of money. Love it!
