    The Nest thermostat is a great thermostat from a long line of thermostats! Using the best app allows you to set trends such as colder at night while sleeping and warmer while away. It is useful when trying to save energy. It was the first thing I bought for my new house!

    I was concerned the Nest might not be compatible with my 100 year old hot water / radiator heating system, not to mention that there are only two wires leading to the thermostat. A friend has the same configuration, and he told me not to worry. Well - it works! Our central AC system has a separate thermostat in another part of the house. It would be nice if Nest would develop a wireless connection so one thermostat could operate both systems.

    This is my second Nest, and I love them. I especially like the emails I get each month telling me how many hours my furnace and/or air conditioner ran, how I compare in energy usage to others in my area, and what the reasons for higher or lower energy usage were for that month. I also like that the thermostat automatically goes into eco-mode when no one is home (based on whether our phones are present or not).
