We had a very difficult to understand thermostat in our hundred-year-old house. We never could figure out how to get that one to come on at the right times (and I'm a pretty smart guy). Enter the Nest... Installation was practically dummy-proof. From the moment we installed it, we had no doubt that it was finding the optimal settings for heating and cooling our home. Bottom line: It does what I tell it to do. We are already seeing savings in both electricity and gas bills. I also love the fact that I can tweak it from anywhere using my smart phone or tablet. And the interaction between other Nest products is also helpful.

I had been watching this item for a long time before my purchase. When I saw the generation 2 on sale for $199, I was tempted to make the purchase, but when I read the reviews on the generation 2 I decided to go with the generation 3. The installation went well, the directions were sufficient for a novice person to understand. The only difficulty that I experienced was getting the app to work correctly. At the start, the app was unable to connect with the nest unit. Something must've gone wrong with the initial start up process, but after restarting the nest unit, the problem was corrected and I am now able to see my nest unit online.

Recently purchased this during a Black Friday deal and I'm happy I did. it looks attractive in my living room and I could install it without much difficulty. It's too soon to know if I will save money, but it's nice that I no longer have to remember to turn the thermostat down at night and before I go to work. It is expensive, and not NEEDED by most, but if you are into technology and find it for less than MSRP, you will be happy.

This is actually the 3rd NEST thermostat that I have had experience with and ALL of them work perfectly, are extremely easy to set up, and help save money almost immediately. The box contains EVERYTHING that you need for smooth installation. You DO NOT need a professional.

This is a great thermostat and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I have had lower heat bills and it is great at cycling the temp down during the day and evenings. It has taken a while for me to get used to "turning the heat up remotely" before I go home. You can have it on a program that goes "on" an "off" at certain times but my schedule varies and I travel. Overall, an excellent product and I would buy it again....

Great thermostat for the home. Bought one for both the upstairs and downstairs. Easy to install and easy to also work via the Nest App. Also happens to be a great looking unit, we got the one with the white band.

Easy to install, works like a dream, and looks so sleek on the wall! Worth the money spent and I even received an instant discount through my electric company to purchase it so I saved a bunch!

Installed this smart thermostat at my parents house and they love it! Easy to install and connect to the WiFi and Nest app. My parents aren't very tech savvy, but this couldn't be any easier for them to use.

With some hesitancy, I decided to replace my thermostat with a smart thermostat hoping to save on energy cost. After a partial winter season and one summer season I reviewed my usage to the previous season and delighted to report that my summer usage was down by 18%, and 10% for the partial winter season. There are several variables to consider. So, I'll reassess next season. So far so good! Following the directions and viewing the video I had no difficulty installing the thermostat. It is a nice convenience to have the option to adjust the thermostat using my cell. I am a Nest subscriber and have several Google Nest products with one subscription!

It took me a long time to finally take the plunge and spend this kind of money on a thermostat, but when the local power company offered a substantial credit for installing one, I made the made the move and bought two of them (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs). I figured installation would be a complicated ordeal, but I couldn't have been more wrong. It took about 15 minutes to install and another 15 minutes to set up. I'm amazed at how useful these "little computers" are and how they've helped lower my utility usage in such a short time. It "learns" your preferences and senses when you're "away" from home, then adjusts the temperature accordingly. There's no setting up a daily "schedule", because it "learns" how you like the temperature over time. The phone app (and web log-in) allows me to monitor and control from anywhere in the world. This is a great product! I shouldn't have waited.

amazing product that works extremely well in my outdated home. This product also has the ability to learn and to turn the temps up/down when you leave the house to save you money on your electrical bill. super easy to setup and use, and you can control it from anywhere in the world as long as your devices have internet connection. Works in the google home app and with your google digital assistant. I could not get all functions to work with Amazon Alexa devices, so I upgraded to the google nest smart speakers and have had not had any issues.

Works well, simple design, great app. I like how easy it is to setup a heating and cooling schedule, and also that i can control it on my phone.

I absolutely love it, best thermostat that I've ever own, I would like to recommended to everyone. Very easy to use and easy to install, being able to control when I'm not at home and have the house at a desired temperature is the greatest.

After years of not believing the hype and not wanting to spend $250 on a thermostat, I broke down and purchased one of these beauties. The price dropped to $219 which helped, but I finally pulled the trigger on the purchase and couldn't be happier. Installation and setup was a breeze. It only took about 25 minutes for my son and I to get it up and running and programmed. The only downside is that it doesn't work with Apple's Home application, so Siri voice control doesn't work to control the device. That being said, we have the Nest app installed on our phones, and my son has a Google Home Mini in his room, so we are set. If this worked with Apple, Amazon Alexa and Google it would be perfect.

This device has been operational for about a week and has very quickly learned our routine. I compared this thermostat to some other learning thermostats on the market and am very please with this purchase. The appearance is hands down second to none in my opinion. The connectivity with our smart home voice assistant is a very worth while feature alone. Telling a small speaker to change the temperature or ask the current is very handy. Last and probably the most significant upgrade - HUMIDITY READING! I had no clue the importance of maintaining a healthy humidity in the house and this device keeps good measure of the current. Have not yet received our first utility bill after the installation of this device, but the way it has been running/not running the furnace - I feel that it will be energy saving as it claims.

Thermostat works as stated. Has a lot of good features. The main feature that got us to purchase was being able to change while away from home. It does have learning features that we also liked but did expect more specific learning features per user.

This product can be connected to the internet and you can allow the local electric company to adjust the settings on days when they need to limit electricity usage. These settings can be overwritten. Supposedly we got some additional rebates since we let it heat us up a bit from 2pm to 6pm on a couple of days. One of the nice features with this is that it cools your house a bit colder from 1:30ish to 2 so that it doesn't have to run as much during the peak period. It also connects to your phone so it knows if you are home or not, and if you are on your way home. (If you are comfortable letting it know that much about you.) If you have enabled this, it will let the house warm up to "away" levels then when the gps can tell you are on your way home Nest begins cooling your house so that it is comfortable by the time you get home.

Looks nice and it's very easy to operate. I love that I can control it from my phone.

So easy to install and setup. Works well with Alexa and I love how we can check the temperature while away from the house. I also like how it displays the current temp from at least 10 feet or more while I walk past the Nest.
