I usually forget to change the settings on mine before or try to remember setting timers and all. This learns when you come home and adjusts accordingly. I can't wait to see this year over year

I had hoped to control via an average temperature (remote and main thermostat). It appears that it will control from main thermostat or remote thermostat(which can be scheduled) but not an average of both, simultaneously.

You are correct in how the Nest Temperature Sensors work in conjunction with the Nest Learning Thermostat. You can set a schedule for your thermostat to utilize different sensors at different times of the day. Although you can attach up to 6 sensors per thermostat, the thermostat can only use one sensor at a time. With Nest Temperature Sensors, you have the flexibility to choose which room in your house is the most important or set a schedule for your thermostat to use different sensors at different times. You can select which temperature sensor to use in the Morning, Midday, Evening, and Night periods for each thermostat. However, please note that setting different rooms to different temperatures simultaneously would require a zoned system or special vents installed in your home.

Perfect for saving a few $$$ on electric bills

I have the Gen 1 in my house and I recently installed this one at my Mom's. Same setup, same software, all the things you love about the original thermostat. Love the new colors. I just wish that my mom's HVAC was able to use the E instead of this to keep it simple and cheaper.

Called in a repair man and found it had been overheating. Saved me from a major repair cost in the future! Pairs well with Alexa, the only thing I'd like is if you could ask Alexa the current temperature inside, although this could be something addressed later.

Works great just tell the Echo to move the temp up or down and it happens. When we use the app on the phones it responds almost instantly.

I got $100 off per unit via MassSave as an energy rebate to boot. Being able to control my heat without getting off my chair is great. How it learns my temp preferences, my away schedule and such is also great. Would totally recommend.

It turned out my condenser coil was leaking and therefore not cooling, which of course was not a Nest issue.
