It does work, but it is a real pain to adjust all the time. It is not like a regular thermostat. It keeps going on "eco" which I do not have it set to do. So in my hot FL home I come home to stuffy. Or hot at night. Wish I had not bought it. But to change is going to cost me a lot from an electrician.

The thermostat changes its temperature automatically due to some factors like, schedule, learned habits (auto schedule), and Home/Away Assist which makes your thermostat go to ECO mode. You have an option to use it as a traditional programmable thermostat. You can manually set the temperature and create your schedules for the thermostat to follow. Here’s how:
With the Nest app:
- Open the Nest app and select your Nest thermostat.
- Select Settings and then Auto-Schedule.
- Tap the switch to turn it off.
With your thermostat:
- Press the ring and choose Settings and then Nest Sense and then Auto-Schedule and then Off.
We also suggest turning off your Home/Assist, and clearing the existing schedules by selecting Settings, > Reset, > Schedule > Reset.

Having the nest helps to regulate the temperature throughout the house more consistently!

I only bought a second one because we don’t have a C wire. However, even after charging the Nest, it still did not want to power on. It powered on out the box and died shortly after installing. Hot air was blowing not sure what was wrong with the connection. Will be trying the Touchscreen Honeywell with a C wire adapter.

This was a Christmas gift as we transition to more Smart Home electronics. Very easy to setup and simple operation. The "learning" feature is a little hit or miss. Any changes out of the typical settings seem override previous settings. So overall, I don't think it has saved us much money yet. I do like the ability to manage the thermostat from my phone app.

It's very convenient since we don't have to physically go up to it to keep changing the temperature. I also love the fact that it senses when you're away and it goes into energy savings mode! Great product, design and features!!

I then purchased the 3rd Gen Nest and absolutely love the changes they've added.

Make sure you check before opening the box. The instructions are on the outside of the box. Their customer service online was excellent.

The app functionality of it is amazing and being able to compare each day the usage is priceless! Best money spent and look forward to seeing the savings!
