I really loved this! It was exactly what my family and I were looking for!

This seems like a good thermostat but it does not really fit our needs, if your family has a normal routine it would be better. We don’t because we are in and out of our house all day so the Nest was not a good fit for us.

Really disappointed! We’ve only had this for a year and 2 months and it’s already quit working. Constantly says low battery and we can leave it plugged into the charger for 8 hours and it still won’t charge. All this, in the middle of the hottest days of summer. And when it’s trying to charge, the HVAC shuts off because the thermostat isn’t connected.

So i bought this in September to get ready for the cold weather ahead and ended up lasting for a lil bit of use in october. Now its November and the unit is dead and does not work. Died on the coldest morning we had so far. Started by the battery slowly not keeping full charge. Only lasted 3 months and is outside the return window and google seems like there not guna do anything about it.

It's great when it works. All of a sudden one of our three thermostats stopped connecting to wi-fi within a year of installing. NEST knows that this is a known issue with the Wi-fi chip. https://www.engadget.com/google-replace-nest-w5-wifi-error-070131820.html. Best Buy online won't do anything by phone. You have to talk to the store directly, so it is not easy to deal with. I've been on hold and it's not easy to navigate. I've also been told to contact NEST directly.

Best purchase I've made in a long time. The installation was excellent.

This is a very good Item. It appears to be able to save me money on my heating and air conditioning bills. I have to learn on how to set it for desired heating and air conditioning conditions. If necessary, I can contact Best Buy to to advise me

good thermostat but very difficult to operate to program I navigate through the operating system could’ve been a little more easier to operate would’ve gave it five stars

Great thermostat that I added to my smart home it is awesome as you will get monthly reports on your usage of heating and Cooling. Works great with Alexa!

Think you want to save money then guess again. Even though this is the 3rd Generation line it still has major flaws. It is costing me OVER $500 to get this installed. even though my a/c unit is only 2 years old they say that the NEST, because it steals power to charge its internal battery, needs another power source. Like the 5 wires in the thermostat aren't enough already. You have to pay for an a/c guy to prove its not your system having issues. Then get him or an electrician to run another wire to power the NEST. Guess again. Save your money! Because the Nest will not ever pay for itself. Not to mention the hours on the phone with their tech support. Poor Poor Poor and a waste of time. Not to mention a bloody hot house in Florida!!!! I will be returning to BB for a refund!

I saw all the great reviews and because I have two homes with Nest thermostats and Nest cameras that installed easily and work great ordered this one. First of all installation was complicated and tedious. Directions were minimal and required several email exchanges of wiring diagrams before it would work. Even though I was on the chat line for what seemed like hours we never did get it connected to the internet. (my two Nest cameras are both connected to the ap). The chat line help was patient but at one point asked me to find someone else to help me enter the PW. I explained I have two homes with the same PW in both homes and on several Nest devices but this one was not connecting. Finally I surrendered and gave up. I would have returned it but it is installed and working manually but will not buy another.

It is good but it looks like it put a pressure on HVAC system and consequently on house power.

I boought two. One worked and the other stopped connecting to the internet after 9mos. I reached out to google sipport and after some trouble shooting they sent me one with a temp charge to my account saying if i ididint return the old thermostat i would be charged. The replacment did not work, even worst then the one which i had. It took some time to trouble shoot and i even hired an electrician in case i was doing it wrong. Conclusion was that this replacment was a refurbished thermostat. I asked Google for an extention to ensure i was able to fedex back on time and prior to the suspense date being completed they charged me $235 for the replacment that didnt wven work and i no longer had. Over $600 later plus the cost of an electrician and I WOULD NEVER BUY GOOGLE product again. What a scam !!!!!

Have the Nest thermostats installed and they work perfectly!!

Got this for my parents, and it turns out all the techy features frustrates them more than their old school thermostat. I can see why it’s cool, but maybe not the best gift idea for non-technical people.

I have two separate systems. AC and a boiler heating system. This thermostat did not work on my AC. The AC would start up then shut off. Had to pay person to install, uninstall and put in old thermostat and couldn’t return the thermostat. This purchase was an expensive mistake
