Love this so far Tiffany and Norris did a great job I was disappointed with the installer

Still trying to figure out how to use it. Sometimes when I think I'm cooling I get heat.

Got it on black friday. Got a sweet deal. Was bummed that total tech couldnt install it but its ok it was easy to install.

Could be smarter... It doesn't learn quickly and always tries to save energy in lieu of making you comfortable...

This thermostat is ok. It does not work the same in fan mode as a regular thermostat.

these are way to expensive and seem to have a mind of their own...... not easy to link up

We wanted to like these. Unfortunately, they are nothing more than a giant pain in the rump. It is not possible to turn off the eco setting, so if my home’s temperature stays at 70 degrees for more than an hour or two, it drops the set temperature to 62 for eco reasons. Except it’s the middle of winter in northern Michigan. And no matter how many times we turn this setting off, it turns itself back on. We were much happier with the cheap digital thermostats that we had before.

No instructions on how to set up on your phone if you have a problem!

I bought this item after check the compatibility with the system that was already had in my home, but when i installed it, it wasn't working properly. The wires were setup exactly how nest asked to put them, but it wasn't working. I did the whole process, it wasn't cooling at all, so i removed and put back my previous Thermostat.

I loved my Nest thermostat until 6 months in the wifi radio failed causing instability, random restarts, and battery drain. Google makes it an awful experience to replace a defective product. I would recommend looking at other smart thermostats if you value your sanity.

It is great to have the app on my phone, but I find the device without the app confusing and hard to use.

Cool idea but not easy to set up. Will need someone to come in and do it for you

Wifi signal in two story house wouldn't work well keeps losing signal so kind of pointless

In the winter it helped me to safe money but summer was horrible. I used ac more than last year

Love the Nest but had issues installing because I had to figure out how to power the Nest since our house didn’t have a dedicated constant power wire. We just ran a new wire which wasn’t too bad and all is good now! I just wasn’t expecting the additional work when I purchased one super cold winter night.

It makes it sound like its easy and works everywhere. It doesn't the support line was awful and took over 60 min to discover they don't know what they are doing. They ended up trying ot sell me an install service instead of asking a ten second question. In the end I returned it. Wouldn't recommend until you are certain it will work for you.

I've wanted a Nest for years now, but finally own my own home to put it in. Having never installed a thermostat before, I did exactly what you shouldn't do...I disconnected all of the wires before noting their location on the old thermostat. In spite of this critical error, using the Nest instructions, the basic configuration seemed consistent with my wiring, and I connected everything, put on the faceplace and fired it up. The Nest walks you through all of the steps you need to be more efficient. It notes weather patterns in your area, it senses the type of system you have, it configures home and away times. It turns out that I had wired my system for a heat pump, something I do not have. It noticed this right away, and after one more switch-off of the breaker, I had all of the wires in the right place. Since having the Nest, I've noticed that the home temperature is very consistent. The Airwave (cooling function shutoff) feature is very effective and the house is always within our specifications. I've only turned the dial on the Nest once in the past week since it was installed. And of course, I changed the temperature up and down on my mobile phone, just for fun. We haven't gotten into heat season yet, but I have a feeling with the up and down temperatures here in Colorado, that the nest is really going to help. No more switching back and forth from hot to cool throughout the day. Just set it, and let the temperature determine the function. Oh, and it looks just as awesome as I predicted it would on the wall. We used the mounting plate to cover up the previous thermostat holes. I've seen others at friends houses that did not have such plates (Gen 2), and the holes, no matter how well you patch, were still obvious.

Google nest may be good for some homes, but for ours is was not compatible with the our AC wires. Too many faulty errors for me to recommend.
