We purchased three and were assured that the third party total tech could install. They couldn't. Our multizone house was too 'complex' to know how to install them. The wiring wasn't the issue. It would be good to have the install team and the sales team be on same page.

Nest thermostats would generally work without a common wire. However, there are some systems that would require a C wire or Nest Power Connector. I purchased it at the end of June and installed it in July 3rd I think, and my electric bill has gone up more than 50% in June over the month of July and 45% more in month of August. I thought the first month might have been a learning curve, so I gave it another full month to see what would happen. I am uninstalling it and wanting to return it, however BestBuy says I am past my 45 day window and can't help me at all with an exchange or credit. So not only am I out $200+ dollars for the Unit, also out an extra $150+ for my energy bill. Needless to say , I am not a happy customer at all.

We were building a house so I did not need it for a while. When everything was ready 7 months later and we were able to use it, it would not turn on. After speaking with nest they told us to return it to best buy. Best buy refused the return, so I had to buy another thermostat. I went ahead and bought a nest again and this one worked. I like the thermostat, don't like best buys 14 day return policy. I would purchase this product somewhere else. I would recommend the product to a friend, not purchasing at best buy though.

Our products do come with a two year warranty. While we wouldn’t be able to provide a refund in this case, any customer can contact us and we’d be able to replace a faulty unit that’s still under warranty by sending a replacement.

Not for dual heat systems
