This thermostat has been such an upgrade over my standard from its features to its ease of installation, intergeation into the Nest system and finally its aesthetic which is beautiful.

Bought 2 of these to replace the ones I got from my local power company. House was always inaccurate with temps in the winter we would freeze!!! I was finally fed up with them. I purchased the Nests on Black Friday. They are so amazing! Our home is finally at a comfortable temp and hold it! They are super simple to install and come with a ton of different settings. The app is also super useful! I highly recommend these!

We built a new home and I planned to upgrade to a Nest. I'm glad that I waited for the Gen 3 as it installs and sets up very easily. The quality of the integrated software is excellent and the actual unit feels solid! I turned the schedule off. I come and go all the time with not fixed schedule therefore it did not control the temp in the house very good. I love that I can change the temp on my phone from anywhere. We'll see how much we save as it learns our home.

I had the 2nd gen before this. I swapped out the 2nd gen and put in the 3rd. I like the 3rd better because of the two main differences. 1) the screen is larger and higher resolution and 2) the motion sensor is now far field. The larger screen is nice so you can see information from further across the room. It's not a deal break and wouldn't be worth replacing a second gen on that alone. The far field sensor means the Nest can tell if you are around when you are further away or off to the side better than the old one. If you are further away, it will see you, activate the screen (which you can now see from further away) and know not to go into auto-away more (now called Eco). It is also slightly lower profile, and it looks great on my wall. It comes with a plate to cover more of the wall space if you are replacing an older thermostat and don't want old mounting holes and whatnot visible. As with any Nest, it makes it easy to control your temperature from anywhere in the world with your smartphone and with automated programming, it will save you money. Some utility companies will reimburse some of cost of buying this. Mine didn't but that didn't affect my choice to get this. I don't have the Protect or cameras they offer, but I do have an Echo, a Wink hub and Harmony Home Hub, all of which integrate with Nest. So it's all interconnected and easy to control from any of those platforms. Next is not HomeKit enabled yet (meaning you can't ask Siri on iOS to control it). So some people I know have replaced their Nest with another brand that is HomeKit enabled. I have an iPhone and iPad and use the iOS app to control it all the time, so it's perfectly usable for Apple folk, its just not embedded with the specific HomeKit platform. Not a huge deal really. If you have a Nest gen 1 or other non-smart thermostat, get this. If you have a Nest Gen 2, wait for a more significant upgrade. Unless you need it to be HomeKit, its the best out there.

This is a great addition to any home. Definitely make sure your HVAC system will support it. However, the install was a piece of cake. It took about thirty minutes as it says, more if your decide to paint or spackle any holes in the wall, but overall very easy to do. I'd recommend a second pair of hands especially when screwing the unit to the wall, keeps things easier. Unit is easy to use and works great when you can get Google or Alexa to handle it for you.

Really like my Nest gen 3 thermostat. Installation was fairly straight forward. Make sure you use the online wiring guide. It creates a custom picture to follow based on the wires you currently use. Having the ability to control the temperature from the upstairs bedroom is really convenient. I know a lot of wifi thermostats can do that, but the additional features of the Nest make it stand out. I especially like the balance choices for using the heat pump vs aux heat.

Easy installation and easy to operate! Love being able to control from my phone. And got a reward from Con Edison.

The Nest smart thermostat is the a great tool for conserving energy bills without giving up comfort. It linked with my google assistant which is a plus. The phone app also make it easy to change settings if you forget. It will remember your habits and knows when you are home. I like the displays on the face of the thermostat that keep you weather conditions current. If looks nice on the wall too.

This is a must have thermostat. It works perfect. I am able to connect and control it from anywhere .

This thermostat has so many benefits ! Who wouldn’t want to have one! You can regulate you heat/cooling while not at home. You also can tell if your heating cooling system is not working correctly and get it repaired before damage is done!

Easy to install (assuming you have cell service as you have to turn power off you can't find a fuse linked to the thermostat directly) both in terms of physical install and programming. It has been great so far. I found it easy to get a rebate with my local utility as well ($45!). I do wish the integration between Nest and Google Home was a bit better.

Installation was easy, the app is easy and very convenient. passing by it lights up and displays our temperature... we are now more conscious of our air condition temperature which reflects on our overall electric bill... the device learned our habits very quickly soon it was setting itself! We look forward to seeing our energy bill next month. it knows when were not home and it knows when we are. we used to crank our air down to 72% now were leaving it at 75 or 76 because it feels just as cool

I regret that I didn’t purchase this product sooner. The fact that you can control the temperature from your phone whenever you want, you can set it up for the system to know when you are away and it also learn your preferences it’s amazingly good. I guess the only thing that made me think twice was the cost of the product at first when you are not yet aware of the benefits.

Awesome thermostat, all the information you need at you fingertips and a very good learning thermostat. Unfortunately it was not compadible with my system as it did not have a dedicated C-wire (power). If I had only one zone it may have worked but I have 3 zones so putting 3 thermostats started overloading my system due to the power requirements needed to charge. It's a disappointment because I loved this thermostat! It was easy to setup - took literally 10 mins.

This item was a great purchase. I especially liked the thermostats ability to be able to be controlled via the internet. This thermostat was very easy to install. The thermostat was even easier to set up and program. I also liked the ability to share the thermostat with my family members as well as the economy mode. I would recommend this product to a friend. Excellent product.

This is the second "smart" thermostat I've owned and it is by far more advanced than the previous (another brand). Setup and installation was pretty seamless. It's extremely user friendly, which is a huge advantage over the other unit I had. The visual display is easy to read and customizable. There's a fair amount of functionality that I don't know I'll use on this. What I like so far about it after a month or so: 1. Ability to show temp outside on the face. 2. Setting a schedule is easy. I haven't explored the learning side of the thermostat too much since we have the schedule set. 3. Adjust the temp via phone app. 4. It has automatically detected me away a few times, so I know that works. Haven't needed it much WFH during COVID though. 5. Energy history. Shows me how the weather has impacted my energy use. The entire Eco setup of the device is great. The one con is that Alexa integration doesn't seem to work as well in hybrid (heat and cool) mode. We're in that season in Florida right now and Alexa gets confused when I try to adjust the temp by voice. Not a huge issue as the app works fine. When I had it just on AC (cool), voice control worked fine. Overall, it's an expensive thermostat that I don't think I will 100% utilize to the fullest, but the ease of use and higher quality app and design made it worth it for me.
